Who lost how many votes and who got how many?
The results of the country's biggest folk festival have been declared. In such a situation, the film stars come to mind. These days everyone in Bollywood asks the same question who won, who lost? Who will get how many votes and, will they be seen playing their innings on the silver screen again or will the magic of their acting be lost?
Let's see who won and who lost:
Shatrughan Sinha
Senior Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha fought this session's Lok Sabha election on a Trinamool Congress (TMC) ticket from Asansol in Bengal. Shatrughan Sinha, who was once a dedicated star campaigner of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and then held the post of Union Minister after winning the election, went from BJP to Congress and then stood with Mamata Didi, has been a strong candidate against the BJP for the second time. In the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, he was declared the MP of Asansol by defeating SS Ahluwalia by 60,619 votes.
Hema Malini
She carries both acting and politics together. The screen's dream girl has won for the third time to reach the parliament. She contested for the third time on a BJP ticket from Mathura (Uttar Pradesh). Hema ji has won by 2 lakh, 49 thousand, 250 votes from the opposition candidate Mukesh Dhangar.
Smriti Irani
On the small screen, Tulsi from Ekta Kapoor's serial 'Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' has achieved such rapid success in politics that very few people get it. As a BJP leader, she has handled many central ministries. She has defeated Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 elections and was repeatedly challenging Rahul. In this Lok Sabha election, she faced defeat after losing to Congress' Kishori Lal Sharma by 1 lakh, 18 thousand, and 471 votes.
Ravi Kishan
Ravi Kishan contested the Parliamentary elections for the second time from Gorakhpur, the stronghold of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and won. Ravi Kishan was up against actress Kajal Nishad. Ravi Kishan defeated Kajal by 1 lakh, 35 thousand 26 votes.
Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua'
Bhojpuri superstar Dinesh Lal Nirahua is also one of the candidates who lost the election. This strong BJP candidate was fielded by the party for the second time in the Lok Sabha 2024 battle against Dharmendra Yadav of the Samajwadi Party from Azamgarh. Nirahua's elder cousin, a Birha singer, had started campaigning against him. Nirahua has lost by 1 lakh, 35 thousand 26 votes.
Pawan Singh
Pawan Singh, who is a singer turned actor and Bhojpuri superstar, was included in BJP's first election list. Pawan Singh was being fielded from Bengal's Asansol seat, where he would have faced Trinamool's Shatrughan Sinha. Pawan refused to contest from there and then the party did not give him a ticket. Pawan Singh contested as an independent from Karakat in Bihar. Despite the good winds blowing in his favor, he could not stand in competition with the BJP. Pawan lost by 1 lakh, 5 thousand, 858 votes.
Manoj Tiwari
Due to his stronghold in BJP, Manoj Tiwari was fielded by the party for the third time from Delhi North East. Manoj Tiwari was pitted against Congress and Aam Aadmi Party supported candidate Kanhaiya Kumar. Here it was a Purvanchal vs Purvanchal fight, but singer-actor Manoj, who was once the president of Delhi BJP, defeated Kanhaiya Kumar by 1 lakh, 38 thousand, and 778 votes.
Kangana Ranaut
Kangana is known in Bollywood as an actress who is always in controversies. BJP had tried an experiment by fielding Kangana, who fights on every issue, from Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) and Kangana has led the party to victory. Mandi was seen as a battle between the 'Queen' and the 'King'. Kangana has defeated Vikramaditya Singh, son of senior Congress leader Veer Bhadra Singh, by more than 72 thousand votes.
Arun Govil
During his campaign, crowds gathered on the streets of Meerut to see Arun Govil, Ram of the popular TV serial 'Ramayana'. Many Bollywood and TV actors went to campaign for him. Arun Govil has increased the prestige of his party BJP. SP's Sunita Verma was the candidate against him. Arun Govil won by 10,585 votes.
Although many other stars have also contested Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha elections in this 2024 election battle, they are not directly connected as Bollywood actors or actresses. One of them is Hansraj Hans (BJP). Many stars have also been involved in the assembly elections in South India. Pawan Kalyan (JSP), Balakrishna (TDP), Suresh Gopi (BJP), RK Raja Selvamani (YSRP) have been such candidates. Bengal film industry faces Rachna Banerjee (TMC), Dev (TMC), Sayoni Ghosh (TMC), cricketer Yusuf Pathan (TMC), etc. have also been the faces of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It will be interesting to see who among them can remain associated with which party for how long and who will want to return to the screen.
