In most homes across the country, a homemaker’s contribution often goes unnoticed—her tireless efforts to save, nurture, and manage are seamlessly woven into the fabric of a family’s daily life, yet rarely accorded the recognition they deserve. Take Avani Trivedi, a housewife from Kanpur and the protagonist of Zee TV’s new show ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwaab’ for example. Her days are marked by constant sacrifices and an unwavering commitment to her family’s dreams. Every rupee she saves and every task she shoulders becomes her way of inching closer to their shared goal: that of moving into a lavish home they can truly call their own. Yet, despite all she does, Avani’s dedication is often taken for granted, as is the case with so many homemakers across India. Avani realizes her quiet sacrifices alone won’t bring their dream of a bigger home to life. Determined to contribute more actively, she decides to revive a talent she had set aside long ago—a skill that once defined her individuality but was buried under the weight of household responsibilities. With renewed resolve, she embraces her potential and steps into the world outside to ensure her family’s aspirations are fulfilled, proving that destiny is hers to shape.

Bas Itna Sa Khwaab weaves a compelling narrative around Avani’s journey, delivering a heartfelt message: Women who manage their homes so beautifully can just as easily take on the world outside and succeed. “Jo ghar sambhaal sakti hai, woh ghar chala bhi sakti hai aur ghar bana bhi sakti hai” Produced by Zee Studios, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab is set to premiere on 3rd December at 7 PM, only on Zee TV. The show took Kanpur by storm as lead stars - Rajashree Thakur and Yogendra Vikram Singh - who essay the roles of Avani and Shikhar respectively- arrived in the city and celebrated the often-overlooked contributions of women who straddle both their responsibilities at home with the demands of a work life. Rajashree, who has returned to Zee TV after 15 years, has received a lot of appreciation ever since the promos went on-air. Our Avani identified and felicitated some real-life ‘Avanis’ from the media fraternity, becoming their voice and saluting their unseen strength and countless sacrifices that these incredible women make day in, day out in both their personal and professional lives.

To bring Avani’s inspiring story to life, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab immerses itself in Kanpur’s vibrant spirit, capturing the city’s essence through its iconic locales. From the tranquil Bithoor Ghat and scenic Moti Jheel to the lively charm of Phool Bagh and its towering water tank, every frame resonates with authenticity. The show’s journey includes Kanpur’s culinary hotspots like the legendary Thaggu Ke Laddu, Badnaam Kulfi, and Pehelwan Mathe Wala, adding layers of nostalgia and flavor. Even the bustling Maggi Point plays a role, weaving the city’s warmth into Avani’s tale.

This feels like a full-circle moment for me,” said Rajshree Thakur as she returns to Zee TV after 15 years with Bas Itna Sa Khwaab

Rajashree Thakur said, “I am very elated that we are in Kanpur for the launch of our show - Bas Itna Sa Khwaab. We shot for a few episodes in the city, and I have received a lot of love and support from the people here since the first day of shoot. As a woman, I can relate to the struggles, the dreams, and the quiet strength that homemakers like Avani carry every day. I hope that every woman across the country—sees a reflection of their dreams, sacrifices, and aspirations in Avani. I got the fortune to felicitate some wonderful women and recognise their unnoticed struggle and hardwork, while also hearing their heartwarming tales. Hoping these stories as well as the journey we are about to embark on is one of empowerment as well as hope, and it help everyone believe that no dream is too small, and no dreamer is too ordinary to make it come true.”

Yogendra Vikram Singh said, "I’m beyond excited to be in Kanpur for the launch of my upcoming show, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab! It’s a city that’s full of energy and charm, and I can't wait to experience the love and affection of people. Mangesh Kulkarni, Chief Channel Officer, Zee TV said, “Bas Itna Sa Khwaab is a tribute to the unsung heroes of our homes—the homemakers whose relentless efforts form the foundation of every family. In Avani Trivedi, every woman in our audience will see a reflection of her own struggles, aspirations, and quiet triumphs. Her journey from selfless caregiving to stepping beyond her comfort zone embodies the extraordinary potential hidden within everyday sacrifices. This story resonates deeply with our ethos at Zee TV, as we strive to tell narratives that inspire, empower, and connect. By spotlighting these uncelebrated contributions, we hope to initiate a shift in how society views the immeasurable worth of a homemaker’s role.

Producer Sachin Rumde, Zee Studio said, “Bas Itna Sa Khwaab is a story that will resonate deeply with women across the country as it reflects the experience of navigating life as a homemaker on the threshold of stepping into the big, bad world. It lands the message that what homemakers do is in no way small and even though often taken for granted, many of them hold the potential of going out there and pursuing a career of their own to financially support the family. Filming in the heart of Kanpur, at iconic spots, has added authenticity to Avani’s journey. We’re thrilled to bring Rajashree Thakur back after her hiatus; her portrayal of Avani is powerful and relatable. We also have other talented actors like Yogendra Vikram Singh and Bhumika Gurung who are perfect fits for their roles. Collaborating with Zee TV has been a wonderful synergy, and we believe this show will strike a chord with audiences who see themselves in Avani’s story.”
