Tumko Meri Kasam Trailer Launch: On Tuesday, March 4, the trailer for Vikram Bhatt's upcoming film Tumko Meri Kasam was launched in Mumbai. The event saw the presence of the film’s entire star cast, including Anupam Kher, Esha Deol, Ishwak Singh, Adah Sharma, and director Vikram Bhatt. The event was also graced by Mahesh Bhatt, who is associated with the film as its presenter. Dr. Ajay Murdia, founder of Indira IVF, was also present at the event.
Star Cast Looks
Talking about the looks of the stars, Esha Deol appeared in a stunning black dress, looking beautiful. Actress Adah Sharma was seen in a white outfit and accessorized it with a tiara, looking cute. Meanwhile, actor Ishwak Singh kept it casual in his attire.
Mahesh Bhatt’s Praise for Vikram Bhatt
Mahesh Bhatt took the opportunity to praise Vikram Bhatt at the event. He said, “To constantly prove yourself in the film industry is not an easy task. Staying relevant for 35 years and stepping out of a well-defined image, one that the market has recognized, to explore an intimate space where the heart beats and the soul cries, and to extract a story from the life of a living person, is a challenge that not everyone can take on. But Vikram has done it.”
Vikram Bhatt responded, “I have no words for what Mahesh Bhatt said. Since I was four years old, I have been imitating him. He is like a father to me, he is my mentor.”
Vikram Bhatt also spoke about working with Anupam Kher, saying, "Working with Anupam Kher is like working with an automatic car. It was a wonderful experience working with him on this film.”
Anupam Kher’s Thoughts
Anupam Kher spoke at length about not working with Mahesh Bhatt for a long time, saying, "I have known Mahesh Bhatt for the past 35 years, but after Saaransh, he never took me in his films. Perhaps he was waiting for the right script and the right character that would do justice to me."
Adah Sharma on the Music
Adah Sharma praised the film’s music, saying, "The songs, lyrics, and music are beautiful, created by Prateek Walia and Shweta Batra." Speaking about her experience working with Vikram Bhatt, Adah said, “I worked with Sir in 1920, which was my first film. He took care of me like a co-star and not like a star. His behavior is always wonderful, and I recommend anyone coming into this industry or already in it, to work with Bhatt Sir at least once.”
Talking about her character in the film, Adah said, “We tried to copy Indira's look for the film and watched many of her pictures. I hope people will like it.”
Ishwak Singh on His Character
Ishwak Singh shared his experience of working with Vikram Bhatt, saying, “I got the opportunity to work in this film because of Bhatt Sir. He promoted and supported theater when I was just starting my career on stage. After one of our plays, he patted my back and gave me some encouraging words, and that’s when I decided to take this up professionally."
He further added, “Watching the film now brings back all the memorable moments from shooting. Every scene touched me deeply. This is why we were all so committed to the film because it has so much heart. A good film is one that makes you realize how capable you are, and this film does that. I felt it as an actor, and I’m sure the audience will feel the same way."
Esha Deol on Her Comeback
Esha Deol spoke about her return to the big screen, saying, “Thanks to Vikram Bhatt, I am making my comeback after 14 years. I’m really happy to have gotten the chance to play such an intense character, Meenakshi Kumari. Very few directors can leave such an impact on your heart, and Vikram is one of them.”
Dr. Ajay Murdia’s Views
Dr. Ajay Murdia, the founder of Indira IVF, expressed his happiness about being a part of the film's creation, saying, “There were many things I didn’t tell the star cast and Vikram Sir, but after watching the film, I saw that all the scenes and expressions were exactly as they happened in real life. It was truly surprising. I believe this is a work of God’s grace."
Media Round
IVF is associated with many challenges in the medical field. When you come across such cases, how do you handle them? There's also a dialogue related to this in the film, about the 'Yoddha Wala' (Warrior-like) attitude.
Dr. Ajay Murdia, Founder of Indira IVF- When I started working on male infertility in 1978, people would push their wives forward and say, ‘Please treat her.’ I would reply, ‘The gynecologist has already treated her; now it’s your turn.’ They would respond, ‘I’m the warrior.’ I realized that this issue wasn’t limited to just one city or village but was widespread across the country. To change the mindset of men, I organized camps throughout the country. Because of this, even a tempo driver today knows about IVF, and people now trust IVF more than they trust self-proclaimed spiritual leaders."
In the film, there's a dialogue that says, “When a lie seems to be the truth after all the evidence, it is not considered a lie but the truth.” How much truth does this hold in Kali Yuga (the current era)?
Esha Deol-The truth of Kali Yuga? Neither you nor I know that.
You're working with Vikram Bhatt for the first time. Did you ever think that maybe Vikram was offering you a horror film?
Esha Deol- What’s special about this film is that when I sat with Mahesh Bhatt, he said it felt like everything in this film was true. Also, I would say that in this film, everyone acted, not just ‘acted like actors,’ which is happening a lot these days.
After 14 years, you're making a comeback in films. What changes do you feel now?
Esha Deol- I’ve done something over these 14 years; I haven’t been sitting idle. I feel like this is a complete circle. I really enjoyed working with Vikram Sir. Also, working with Anupam Sir was very enjoyable. I had worked with him at the beginning of my career as well.
Chaitanya Padukone, a journalist from Maya Puri, asked Vikram Bhatt, 'This film is based on a true incident, so how did you show your creativity in this film to make it more engaging and connect with a larger audience?
Vikram Bhatt- Before answering, I want to thank everyone involved in the film. Now, as for the creativity aspect, I asked Dr. Ajay Murdia, 'Do you have any enemies?' He said, 'No.' I then told him that no film works without a villain. So, in the film, I’ve shown the character of Dr. Murdia in jail, which never actually happened in real life. I did this purely for entertainment purposes to add excitement to the film.
Tumko Meri Kasam, directed by Vikram Bhatt, will be released in theaters on March 21, 2025. The film is based on the life of Dr. Ajay Murdia, founder of Indira IVF, who has played a pivotal role in helping childless couples become parents.
