This Saturday, Dec 6th, ardent fans of widely-watched evergreen TV shows Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Wagle Ki Duniya –Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey will get to watch and hear celeb TV star Sumeet Raghvan in a different avataar!  As an amazing musical-masti ‘live’  stage-singer!

Yes you heard that right, versatile Sumeet who plays the  popular screen-comical-tinged characters “Sahil Sarabhai” and  “Rajesh Wagle” in TV shows will be singing his favourite Rafi-saab songs on stage at  a grand live concert show “ called Musical Masti”  . The unique show which has been  conceived and produced by music-industry expert veteran and impresario  Bharat Ashar ( legendary genius R D Burman—Pancham-Da’s ex-Manager) also has famous celeb concert singer Shrikkant Narayan ( who also perfectly sings Rafi-saab songs) performing live, besides other known singers.

Is amazing actor ( drama-TV-films) Sumeet Raghavan known for his comic timing and filmy-music-gyaan,   a trained classical singer as well?  Reveals Sumeet,  “That’s right,  I have undergone vocal music training for almost three years under sangeet -Guru iconic singer Suresh-ji Wadkar nearly three decades ago. But I could not pursue singing as a career because my priority career-focus was towards acting. As destiny decided I kept getting so many acting assignments that I never actually got enough time for ‘vocal riyaaz’. While acting has become my profession, singing is my heartfelt passion.. It was highly motivating for me when in the past, I emerged the Final  Winner at the  ‘Say Shaava Shaava’  music reality contest  TV show,  which was co-judged by music-savvy showman film-maker Karan Johar and Simi Garewal,” recalls Sumeet, who considers it a pleasant divine coincidence that legendary singer-actor Kishore Kumar‘s second son’s name is also Sumeet !

What was  the unique X-factor  for  Sumeet’s show this weekend ?  Discloses Sumeet,  “This time for this latest  ‘Musical Masti’ show on this Saturday  night at  Dr Ghanekar Auditorium at Thane  the singers including me and the orchestra decided to offer our live musical sentimental tributes to the yesteryear Golden Era’  and iconic singing legends like Rafi-saab, Kishore Kumar, Lata-Didi and Asha-Tai and to legendary superstars including Guru Dutt-saab ( Centenary) and  to ‘immortal’ Dharmendra-Jee whose 90th Birthday is two days later,  on Dec 8th,. Besides singing, I will be chatting and sharing little-known trivia both with excellent presenter -compere  Sandeep Panchwatkar  and also with the theatre-audience. My heartfelt thanks to our mentor-producer Bharat-bhai Ashar who is the driving force behind this ‘Musical Masti’ concert show and several other upcoming live concert shows including the much-awaited “Musical Tribute to Legend Pancham”( RDBurman)  on Saturday, January 3rd 2026, at Prabodhankar Thackeray Auditorium, at Borivli West,”  shares Sumeet who signs off with “ For me Lord Pancham-da is the God of Film Music” !
