On his second death anniversary, we pay salute-tribute to voice-maestro Ameen Sayani, the man whose iconic greeting, “Behno aur Bhaiyo ”, became more than words. It became a caring belonging !.

Mobius Films and Rajil ( Ameen) Sayani honour his extraordinary legacy with Behno Aur Bhaiyo, an upcoming feature-length soulful docu-biopic that celebrates the life and enduring vocal charisma of the legendary broadcaster known for his resonance and resilience! The exuberant broadcaster who shaped India’s curated musical memories of chart-buster filmy songs for over five decades!

Directed by National Film Award-winning filmmaker Brahmanand S Singh and Tanvi Jain, the film is a heartfelt tribute to the golden age of radio, a time when voices painted pictures, melodies travelled across borders, and a rapt-listening appointment on every Wednesday at 8 pm united millions of listeners week after week.

Drawing from rare family archives, unseen photographs, handwritten scripts, and painstakingly restored audio recordings, Behno Aur Bhaiyo revisits the blooming of Hindi film music and the cultural first-ever musical countdown phenomenon that was Binaca Geetmala. At its heart lies the warmth of a broadcaster who made every listener feel personally addressed, personally heard.

From the creators of Pancham Unmixed and Kaagaz Ki Kashti, this cinematic homage is both a remembrance and a celebration of sound, of shared nostalgia, and of a voice that transformed the airwaves into a national hearth. As we mark his second death anniversary, we are reminded that while voices may fall silent, their echoes endure.

Personally speaking, revered vibrant Voice-of-India 'late'  versatile Ameen-bhai was more like a caring guide, a Father-Figure for me, who would also advise and guide me sometimes on my initial journalism media career decisions.

Many years ago, Ameen-bhai ( fluent in Hindi-Urdu-English)  told me that the mantra of his broadcasting super-success as a "Pioneer-Radio-Jockey" besides other factors could maybe condensed into Four "Cs" -- Confidence, Clarity, Connectivity and Credibility !.

Ameen-bhai had cheerfully mentioned to me that he used to admire legendary actor Dev Anand saab and even copy his hair-styles. Also, he would have loved to get into acting !.  "But shaayad mere naseeb mein yehi likkha thha kay "Meri Aawaaz hee, Pehchaan Hai".!  Mujhe koi afsos yaa khed nahi !" he signed off.  Aadarniya 'Amar' Ameen-bhai hum sabke dilon mein aap hamesha rahenge!
