Laxman Utekar's Chhaava is currently basking in the glory of rave reviews from all over. The story of how Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj valiantly followed in his father Shivaji's footsteps and fought for Swaraj against the Mughals, awoke our patriotic streak once again. It reminded us of how Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his loyal warrior and friend, Kavi Kalash were executed on the Bank of Bhima River in Tulapur.
And actor Viineet Kumar Siingh, who played the role of Kavi Kalash in the movie, decided to pay homage to the characters who fought till the very end and went down in the history books as martyrs. The actor paid his respects at the mausoleums of the two Maratha warriors and sought blessings for a successful journey to bringing their story to the big screen.
Viineet Kumar Singh shared, "This video was filmed at Tulapur, the site of the mausoleums of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Kavi Kalash. The path leading to the Temple of Shankar Bhagwan passes through these mausoleums. I visited this sacred place to seek blessings before beginning the shoot for Chhaava. My intention was to pray for the successful completion of the film, free from any errors or omissions."
He continued, "I spent a long time at the saffron-colored mausoleum of Kavi Kalash, offering my homage. I also visited the Temple of Shankar Bhagwan and spent some time at Sambhaji Maharaj’s mausoleum. The atmosphere there was deeply moving, as it is a place where so much history has unfolded. It was in that moment that I drew strength, allowing me to perform my role with dedication and play the character of Kavi Kalash with the utmost justice."
Since its release, Chhaava has not only performed extremely well at the box office, but also gained positive reviews. Viineet's portrayal of Kavi Kalash as Sambhaji Raje's close friend and also a valiant warrior has been described as one of the film's highlights. In fact, Viineet’s performance moved many audience goers to tears. The film and how Viineet brought Kavi Kalash to life on the big screen, are already being hailed as a triumph.
Post Chhaava, Viineet continues to have a busy docket. He has Superboys of Malegaon scheduled for release on February 28, followed by Jaat, and a couple of other projects that are still in the works.
