In a heartwarming interview, Madhuri expressed her plans to celebrate this joyous festival of lights, revealing that this year's celebration was especially memorable for her family as she and her husband Sriram Nene celebrated their loving 25th anniversary wedding anniversary. Despite feeling the absence of her children, who are currently completing their studies in the USA, Madhuri said that like every year, her Diwali rituals at home consisted of a peaceful Lakshmi puja, and decorating the house with lamps and rangoli. Madhuri and Sriram began their marital journey in October 1999 with a traditional ceremony held in Southern California, where they exchanged vows. Over the years, their family expanded beautifully with the arrival of their eldest son Arin in 2003 and the birth of their second son Ryan in 2005, bringing more happiness into their lives.

Madhuri told how one Diwali night when she was bursting crackers with her friends, one of her friends had handed her a smoldering bomb cracker. Madhuri could not understand that the cracker was already burning. Suddenly the bomb exploded in Madhuri's hands and the fire caught Madhuri's hair and it started burning. Somehow the fire was controlled and Madhuri's head had to be shaved. It took a long time for the hair to grow again. After that day, she never touched firecrackers again.
