Versatile Raima Sen who has an illustrious family lineage! Of being the grand-daughter of highly acclaimed actress Suchitra Sen and daughter of popular actress Moon Moon Sen ! The ravishing Raima has always tried to step out of her comfort-zone and has accepted contrasting roles in the past. In her latest song-less thriller movie ‘‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’, directed by debutante director Preeti Singh the beautiful Raima plays a wealthy rich man’s daughter Aliya who is ‘kidnapped’ and is held in torturous captive custody.  The chiller-crime-thriller maverick movie releases on Friday, August 9th, 2024...

 When I asked her as to what was it that excited Raima, that she took up this unconventional de-glam title role, she responded. “ In this ‘Aliya Basu..’ (One hour 43 minutes) slick thriller movie there are lots of intense action sequences. Something which I have never done before. In the second half, there is an interesting shock-value twist, which blew my mind. My action scenes required me to be gagged with a ball in my mouth for many hours and my hands were chained.   Secondly, the ‘fight-for-survival’ rebel story, the crisp, tight screenplay the volatile action scenes, my fabulous co-stars Vinay Pathak and Salim Diwan. Thirdly the enthusiastic director Preeti Singh—it’s always an extra edge for an actress to work with a female director who possibly has more caring empathy, than a male director, Of course, I have also had a wonderful experience working with all my male directors as well, “ says Raima who was appreciated in her recent movies ‘The Vaccine War’ , ‘Bastar The Naxal Story’ . Not many are aware that Raima has also acted with mother Moon Moon Sen and her sister Riya Sen as co-stars in this landmark 2014 Bengali movie ‘Kolkata Calling’.      

 The anticipation for Rehab Pictures ‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’ has been steadily building since the release of its captivating first look poster. The poster had hit the right chord and left audiences curious to know more about the edge-of-the-seat thriller. Now, Rehab Pictures is set to electrify audiences further with the unveiling of the official trailer, featuring a powerhouse cast including Vinay Pathak, Raima Sen, and Salim Diwan. Present at the trailer launch was also the blockbuster filmmaker Anil Sharma ( of ‘Gadar-2’ fame) who graced the occasion and gave his blessings.

 The film directed by Preeti Singh promises a thrilling ride right from the trailer and has all the elements of a genuine commercial potboiler. The trailer is crafted in a way, that gives the audience an insight into the thrilling drama that is led by mystery and also introducing the lead characters of the film. 

 Producer Dr. Sattar Diwan shared his excitement and stated, "The aim behind the making of the film is to bring back the thriller culture back into Indian cinema." A thriller film with entertainment appeal and right content has always been priotized by the audiences, and we have crafted a film that is sure to take the audiences into a new world flooded with shocking twists and turns."
