Woman in Film India Cannes 2025 Launch Backed by Oscar Winner Guneet Monga Kapoor

The Cannes Film Festival saw its debut with Woman in Film India being launched essentially under the patronage of the Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga Kapoor.

Among many activities, this fellowship was started for women producers, and Tillotama Shome also participated.

WIF India Cannes Launch Led by Guneet Monga Kapoor

An Oscar-winning producer, Guneet Monga Kapoor, led the charge behind the UNIT professional arm, and this month saw the beginning of WIF India at the Cannes Film Festival. It is an Indian chapter of the Women In Film Networking, and WIF India is now an official launch. On this occasion, a website has also been launched (www.womeninfilmindia.org) http://www.womeninfilmindia.org where one could sign up to be a member and gain knowledge of any pending events and resources that come out.

The inaugural WIF India initiative presented at Cannes Film Festival will identify three female producers who will be given the opportunity to participate in networking within the Producers Network, a realm that focuses on the cooperation and networking of film production internationally.

WIF India enjoys a support system in its endeavor from Woman in Film Los Angeles (WIF LA) and stands to be one among more than 50 chapters spanning 6 continents today. The focus is on cultivating gender equity in the realm of film and entertainment industry.

Guneet Monga Kapoor said, "We are laying a strong framework behind the idea of equality with WIF India - mentorship, access, and pathways to leadership. This launch is just a beginning; we want to invest in women, not only for today but also for the future of the Indian entertainment industry."
