“Women should get rid of low self-esteem and settle for higher rewards in life,” insists star actress Kirti Kulhari at author Dr Shamoly Khera’s ‘Letters To Daughters of Tomorrow’ book release By Chaitanya Padukone

An enriching panel and riveting conversations with power women – this was the official evening-time launch of the remarkable motivational book ‘Letters To Daughters of Tomorrow’, written by Dr. Shamoly Khera and published by Rupa Publications, held at Enigma, at Hotel J W Marriott at Juhu. .

On the panel were the incredible eminent women – acclaimed feisty Indian journalist Barkha Dutt, brilliant versatile star actress  Kirti Kulhari, media industry executive Megha Tata and multi-talented author of the book herself Dr.Shamoly Khera.

The verbal discussion ( on stage) panel moderated by the extraordinary Barkha Dutt uncovered several themes of the book . From why there are lesser working women in India --to how women can break stereotypes. ‘Letters to Daughters of Tomorrow’ within two months of it’s release has achieved number two position in the category of success and society & social sciences.

The dynamic charismatic yet affable  Dr. Shamoly Khera shared that her motivation to write the book was the shocking discovery that number of women in India gaining formal education had increased, but the women in workforce had alarmingly declined.

Actress Kirti Kulhari known for her bold and beautiful portrayal of  memorable contrasting characters in maverick films like Pink, Mission Mangal, Uri, Blackmail and OTT series like Four More Shots Please and more recently in Khichdi-2 and Shekhar Home , shared how being a woman has only empowered her in the Bollywood industry.

The dynamic Ms. Megha Tata, who has led teams at Discovery, Star and HBO amongst others spoke about how we can strike positive conversations around women bosses and set new examples and emerge achievers

Padmashri recipient the gutsy, zestful Barkha Dutt also Founder Editor of Mojo Story, praised the book for raising crucial conversations around girls’ financial independence. The discussion encouraged interaction from both women and men in the audience who agreed with the panelists’ candid views on women’s battles against stereotypes.

Dr. Shamoly Khera is an International Television Presenter and Joint Managing Director at One Take Media. She was named Times Most Influential Personality in 2021 for her debut book ‘Bedazzle’ as the ‘Emerging Author of the Year’.
