Many years later, he heard stories about one of his creations in India whose name was Mohammad Rafi, he kept listening to stories about Rafi from people who had heard him and who told god about the magic Mohammad Rafi was working on the lives of millions of his creations and that he was called “god’s the man on earth”. Every man or woman who reached heaven kept telling god about the wonders Rafi, a very god-fearing, humble, honest, and sincere man was continuing to create. God did not take the stories he heard time and again, but one day he decided to find out what these creations of his, Mohammad Rafi was really doing that made so many talked so highly about him, more than all the holy men, saints, swamis, and popes. God asked his p.a. To finish as much of the pending work and told him that he was going on a special and surprise visit to earth. God didn’t tell his p.a. About the purpose of his unexpected visit to earth which he had not done for millions of years.

Rafi Sahab bought a ticket from a black marketeer of tickets

God landed in a country called India and started looking for this rare creation, Mohammad Rafi and he finally came to know that Mohammad Rafi was singing at the shanmukhananda auditorium in Bombay. He reached the gate after being fleeced by a taxi driver who took him all around the city, took him around koliwada, and finally left him at the auditorium. Some men dressed in lungis and kurtas and angavastrams round their necks told god that the show was “sold out”. God got his first sign to know the popularity of Mohammad Rafi. He bought a ticket from a black marketeer of tickets and was unhappy when the ticket he had was for the last row at the back of the auditorium. He had decided that he would keep his identity a secret and he followed the plans he had made.

He sat with a man who kept looking at him as if he had seen an alien. Mohammad Rafi came on stage followed by a shaft of light and god sat up in his seat when he saw the face and smile of Rafi Sahab. He had a feeling that he had seen Rafi somewhere and when he came back from his trance, he realized to his utter surprise was the man who he by mistake had created into an image of himself and had stopped short of creating this man (Mohammad Rafi) who was slowly but surely growing into the image of God. He had put his creativity to a halt and made some changes to see that this creation.

It was just music, music, and more music for Rafi

God saw to it that Rafi was born in a simple family somewhere in the north of India. He made sure that the boy Mohammad Rafi was not highly educated and got him an ordinary school to study in. The young Rafi who was enchanted by the strains and melodies of music, one day saw a fakir (holy man) singing and followed him like a boy lost in some other world. He kept listening to the fakir and was so inspired by his voice that he kept singing like the fakir and had to face the rebuke of his stern father. who was against his son taking interest in something so fickle as music? The boy, Rafi however refused to change his mind to be a singer and from then on, it was just music, music, and more music for Rafi, till he landed in Bombay with only his passion, devotion, and talent as his close friends. And then a miracle happened and there were many more miracles waiting to happen to Rafi and within years, Mohammad Rafi was the voice of God on this earth and no one from heaven or earth could stop him from reaching the sky of success. Mohammad Rafi was accepted as the genuine proof that there was a god or there would not have been a Mohammad Rafi, the chosen one of god himself.

God was still sitting in that seat in the last row of the auditorium and he couldn’t believe that a human could create such miracles with just his voice. God heard Rafi sing songs about love, peace, the mother, the country, the world, and every human emotion with the ease which the only god had before him. And when Rafi sang the song, “ae Duniya ke rakhwale sun mere laale” god did not know where to look as he had tears in his eyes. He had heard this hymn calling out for help from him by the man in the voice of some man, but he didn’t know that the voice singing his heart out to him was this same man with the divine smile who was singing.

God sat through the entire show and before he could leave, he was a happy, confused and worried god, so worried that he wondered whether he had created another god when he was in an absolute and divine state of creativity. He was so baffled by the magic of Mohammad Rafi that he asked his p.a. To send down his supersonic jet to take him back. But before he could start his flight, he felt he should know a little more about this Mohammad Rafi who would grow into a god if he was allowed to have his way. He called Mr. Manohar Iyer, a guru of the world of music, and asked him to tell him something more about Rafi and when Mr. Iyer reeled out facts and figures about the career of Rafi and told god about the “godly nature” of Rafi, god felt uneasy and asked the pilot of his jet to fly to heaven as soon as possible…..

    A few weeks later, the god of earth, Mohammad Rafi suddenly died of a massive heart attack and the sea came out into the streets to cry for the man who brought light not only in the lives of human beings but also nature, birds, and animals, the sky and the stars and even the sea. He was truly the one man who could give a complex and be a competition for god or even be an alternate god…..

Days after Rafi's untimely death, the media in both heaven and earth carried strange stories about what led to the death of a man death was scared of and they couldn’t come to any conclusion. I however had my own explanation. God was either jealous of his creation or he wanted his creation to give the joy that he gave on earth to heaven where there was an acute lack of good singers.
