Hi Sulena ji, I am very fine, how are you?

I am good,Diksha from Yash Raj Films told me that you may be tired due to being busy in promotional shoots, so you can give interview according to your comfort.

Yes, I am really busy, but never mind, I will talk in full detail for Mayapuri.

Q.1 Thanks, first of all you tell us what is the meaning of your beautiful name Sharvari because your name is as beautiful as you are?

Sharvari means, the sky twinkling with stars, that is, when the moon is not there, but the sky looks bright with the gleam of stars. Such a night

Q.2 Tell us about your childhood, where you were born, where did you study and how was your childhood?

(Sweet and bubbly Sharvari giggled in her tinkling voice) Dude, I am from Mumbai, grew up in Dadar area since childhood, I live with my parents.

I did my schooling in Dadar Parsi Youth Assembly High Schoolm, My childhood was very happy and normal.

Since childhood, I was very naughty and had a lot of fun, jokes and was ever bubbly, of course my nature is still the same, nothing has changed.

Q.3 What kind of student were you, a studious, a sportsman, a serious one or that you did not feel like studying?

I was very naughty and interested in playing, but I was also a good student because my parents have been very serious and alert about studies, if I ever got low marks in any subject, I used to get scolded by my mother.

My father also wanted me to study a lot, he used to say that no matter how much fun you have, but you should devote your mind to studies as well.

Apart from studies, I was also very much interested in many extracurricular activities like dance, music, keyboard, piano. I had an association with art since childhood.

Q.4 Is your education being of any use in your carrier today?

Absolutely, education is of great importance in every field. I studied science till twelfth but when I was inclined towards the world of art, my parents said that now you should study art, language, stories, dance, music and take in-depth education about these So I took education in arts.

Went learning all the skills, did acting workshops, did diploma. So definitely education is also working great in films.

Q.5 Did you think as a child that you wanted to be an actress?

No, I didn't think since childhood that I want to grow up to be a film actress because our family doesn't belong to the film industry, so I didn't think of coming to films far and wide in childhood, but when I turned 16, I decided that I wanted to be an actress.

Q.6 Why did this thought come to you? Seeing your beauty in the mirror?

No, I was in college studying science, because my father is a builder and mother is an interior designer, so I thought of joining my father's work by studying civil engineering.

But one day I participated in my college festival (which is conducted by Times of India) in which we can show our talent, and there is also question answer round.

I did not know then, that actually it was not a college festival but a Miss India contest, well I worked very hard and won that contest, won the Bombay round and then won the title of Miss India.

After that, my picture was printed in Times of India and then onwards I started getting audition calls. Thus started the journey of my career.

Q.7 Many Bollywood actors who are not star sons or star daughters and are from outside Mumbai and are top stars today, you do not belong to the film family, but you are from Mumbai, so how Is Your Struggle Different From those outsider's Struggle?

Look, everyone has their own struggle in their own situation. Yes it is true that I am from Mumbai so I did not have any problem of living and eating.

I always had a roof over my head and food in a plate, it was a big blessing for me but everyone in this industry has to struggle, I did my share of struggle too.

Standing in long queues of auditions for hours. I used to dream at night that I got a film, got an ad.

From 2014 I started auditioning and struggling, and after eight years, today in 2021 my dream is fulfilled and my film is about to release, I am reaping the fruits of my hard work.

It has been a very long journey, it took me seven to eight years to achieve my dream, so everyone has their own struggle no matter where you are.

publive-image

Q.8 Well, every newcomer needs a launching pad, did you expect a better launching pad than Yash Raj film?

There can be no better launch pad than Yash Raj films. I had a dream from the beginning that I should debut with Yash Raj film, and my dream came true, I learned a lot from Yash Raj Films, Yash Raj Films groomed me, my talent was sharpened.

This is my huge screen debut, I am proud that Yash Raj Films saw the new Babli in me.

I got a chance in a big film like 'Bunty Aur Babli', Babli is an iconic character in the history of cinema, it was possible because of the amazing, incomparable acting of Rani Mukerji ma'am. What more do I need than this?

publive-image

Q.9 Tell me how you got selected for the movie 'Bunty Aur Babli 2'? When and how did you come to know that you have been OKEYED from Yash Raj Films?

I actually gave my first audition for Yash Raj Films in 2015, itself , there I gave my profile and pictures to Shanu Sharma ji, and also gave my bio, with height and weight etc.

After that, every time a film was announced by Yash Raj Films, I used to audition for it, this cycle continued from 2015 to 2020.

I remember that during that time I used to almost reach the final selection many times but at the last moment I could not get finalized.

But by then I had developed a very good friendship with Shanu ji and then one day she told me that it doesn't matter if you haven't got the film, but this time you come and help me in casting.

publive-image

So during the casting of the film 'Sui Dhaaga', I started giving clues from behind the camera, sometimes I played the role of uncle, sometimes aunt, sometimes sister in law, sometimes sister.

I had a long association with them like this. Then like each time one day I again auditioned for Yash Raj Films, but I didn't know that it was audition for Bunty Aur Babli 2.

When I was finalized, the director of the film Varun V Sharma and Shanu Sharma met me and told that you are almost finalized and this is for 'Bunty Babli 2', I was shocked to hear that.

I Didn't even know that the sequel of 'Bunty Aur Babli' was being made as there was no announcement till then.

I was shocked to hear this good news, my dream of so many years has come true, I really could not even understand for five minutes what was happening.

publive-image

Q10. What was the reaction of your parents when you were announced to be the finalist?

Actually it used to happen many times when everything was final, despite getting rejected in the last moment so this time also I could not believe it, I told my family that till Aditya Sir himself doesn't speak to me and till I get the script, I or anyone else should not be happy.

And finally when Adi Sir called me to his office and Shanu Sharma gave me the script, I was convinced and ran home happily to share the news. My family members were very happy, and everyone became emotional.

Q.11 How is the new 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' different from the 2005 film 'Bunty Aur Babli'?

The most unique and funny thing about Bunty Aur Babli part two is that, this time Bunty Aur Babli has not one but two pair of Bunty and Babli.

In the earlier Bunty Aur Babli, it happened that they used to cheat everyone together, this time they will go a step ahead and cheat each other i.e. these two pairs of Bunty Babli will not only cheat people but also each other. .

Q12. How did you like the experience of working with senior actors like Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji?

Yaar, I have been watching Saif Ali Khan's films for years but when the opportunity came to work together, I was nervous, but he made me comfortable in such a way, laughing, joking and making the atmosphere so light that all the nervousness vanished in thin air, all the shooting was done smoothly, He makes you feel so much at ease , makes the mood so fresh on the sets with jokes that everything became easy.

I have never seen anyone else with such a sense of humor like him. He is of very helping nature. Saif is not only a great actor but also a very good person.

He used to talk a lot with everyone on the set, he used to help everyone with acting.

Q13. And the experience of working with Rani Mukerji?

Many thanks to Rani Ma'am for her incomparable and unbelievable performance in the first 'Bunty Aur Babli' made in 2005, she has made the character 'Babli' an iconic character in the history of Indian cinema.

I am a big fan of her, have been watching her movies since childhood, she is an evergreen actress, when I decided to become an actress, it was somewhere after seeing her and the best actresses of her generation, that I dreamt that I too will become an actress like her.

I hope I have done justice to the role of New Babli. It was a very special moment for me when I started working in a frame with Rani ma'am, I was so overwhelmed, I was just thinking that I should not forget the dialogues.

publive-image

Q.14 In which way and how different is your role in this new 'Bunty Aur Babli' from the previous Babli?

The role of new Babli that I am playing is equipped with all the characteristic traits of **Babli**, she is extremely intelligent, clever, ready for every moment of great challenge, and most importantly, she is a master of net technology, a very talented con woman.

This new Babli which I am playing is a Babli of new generation, a young girl and highly net tech savvy, having tremendous knowledge of Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook and every social media.

This generation's Bunty Aur Babli, are born and brought up in the digital boom, are super cunning and shrewd , and are adept at learning new tricks just by watching YouTube and smothering other thieves.

These Bunty and Babli are expert in the world of the Internet, and perform all thefts only through Net.

Since my character is based in today's times, I have tried to play it in my own way and I hope Rani ma'am and audience will like my effort.

This is my big screen debut and I have given my best to it. The film is about to release and I can't wait to see everyone's reactions. 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' is an out-and-out family entertainer.

publive-image

Q.15 Are you so tech savvy even in real life and know all the tricks of internet, social media?
To be honest, yes I am net savvy, I am.

Q.16 How much time do you spend on the net?

It's a little less than before, due to shooting etc. but still I keep posting stories, photos, videos on Instagram, YouTube.

Whenever anything is shot, I can't stop myself from uploading it immediately. So yes, I spend a lot of time on the net.

publive-image

Q.17 What challenges did you face while shooting for this film?

While playing Bunty Babli in this film, Siddhant and I have taken many avatars, that is, playing many characters in the same film, so for that we had to take different forms and had to do different make-up, had to live with prosthetic makeup for hours.

It used to take six hours to apply prosthetic makeup for a particular look, so I would come in for makeup six hours before the shoot, and then for six hours I would get my makeup done, applying glue from head to neck, sticking silicone skin and then had to shoot all day in the same form, it was very taxing, challenging for everyone, but the fun I had in getting into the skin of different characters may never come again.

Q.18 What were the locations?

Although the film was shot in many beautiful locations, North India, Mumbai, but overall most of the shooting was done in Abu Dhabi.

publive-image

Q.19 What did you like about Saif Ali and Rani Mukerji and what did you dislike?

Not even a single thing felt bad, I am not only the one saying this, everyone who works with them knows this.

On screen, the world accepts that Rani mam and Saif sir are great actors, how lovely their chemistry is, film lovers all over the world are their fans, but off screen how they are, only those who have seen them closely can know, like me.

They are both so humble, down to earth, so full of sense of humour, so kind and helping that anyone who works with them gets overwhelmed. they often taught us many new things. They had become like friends.

publive-image

Q.20 And your hero in the film, Siddhant Chaturvedi, which things did you like and which were bad about him?

I have a very old friendship with Siddhant. Many years ago, probably from 2014, when I auditioned for the first time, I did an audition with Siddhant, followed by a long journey of auditions and struggles, when both of us used to stand in long queues for auditions, often I met him there.

When I used to stand in the queue, I often saw him standing, so both of us used to spend an hour comfortably talking and joking.

I have a special connection with Siddhant because I know how hard he has worked and struggled to reach this point and for this film we both were sure that we have to give our best, Such an opportunity may never come again.

There has been a special equation between us, as there is a special chemistry and special bond between the pair of Bunty and Babli, similarly our pair will be liked by the audience on screen.

Ever since I was child, I was influenced by music!’ Bunty Aur Babli 2’s gorgeous debutant Sharvari, is a multi-talented artiste as she opens up about her passion for playing the piano

Q.21 Bunty Aur Babli Part 1 was a super hit, so are you nervous for Part 2?

I am not nervous at all, but very excited. 'Bunty Aur Babli Part One' was a super duper hit film and had created a place in everyone's heart, so I hope 'Bunty Aur Babli Two' could prove to be an equally big hit or may be an even bigger hit.

We all have made this film with lot of love and hard work and I hope the audience will watch it with the same love.

Q.22 What do you think about your career after 'Bunty Aur Babli 2'?

'Bunty Aur Babli 2' is my first grand release. I want this film to be super duper hit, I am sure everyone will like it very much, and after that I wish to get more good films. This is what I pray for.

publive-image

Q.23 How did you celebrate Diwali?

Diwali I celebrated with a lot of fun and enjoyment. This year's Diwali was a bit more fun than last year when there was a strict lockdown.

I enjoyed Diwali by staying at home with my parents, siblings. We decorated our house, performed Pooja, relished tasty sweets.

This Diwali was also special Diwali for us because my film 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' is going to be released a few days after Diwali, so we all prayed together for the success of the film and wished that people like it.

Q.24 Did you burst firecrackers?

No no no, we didn't burst crackers at all. Just decorated the house, worshiped, prepared sweets. Nice tasty dishes were relished and we distributed sweets and wished everyone.

publive-image

Q.25 What did you do during the lockdown?

There was no going out during the lockdown, all this was done for our good. The atmosphere outside was very tense.

We and our family members decided that we should pass this lock down phase positively, we all kept ourselves busy with works that we could not do due to lack of time earlier.

My eleven year old younger brother was very happy because during the lockdown we were all staying at home, otherwise each of us used to be busy in our own work. Before lock down he too was very busy in his school and we did not get time to sit together.

So during the lockdown days, my younger brother Arnab was our source of enjoyment, he brought joy to our lives.
