Farhaan Akhtar always wanted to be a writer like his father Javed Akhter , but he was led into the ring of direction and succeeded in a big way when he directed films like Dil Chahta Hai, Don and Don2 and Dil Ko Dhadak Ne Do and all the films were successful - Ali Peter John

But , the actor in him kept prodding him on to try his talent as an actor and when he tried, he was a successful actor too .

The last time he was amazing in director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Bhaag Milkhaa Bhaag in which played Milkha Singh , who died a fortnight ago due to Covid 19 complications.

Farhan has led the role of a boxer and his rise , fall and rise in the ring . The way Farhan prepared for his role by putting on the kind of muscles that a good boxer needed and how he lost that same body to suit his role as a loser and then putting on the same muscular body when he is a champion again was nothing but a miracle work by man on his god gifted body .

The film is called Toofan and casts the Searchlight on a young man from the notorious area of Dongri which is considered to be the birthplace of some of the most notorious gangsters and smugglers.

The boy grows to be a very good boxer and even wins two championships, but has a few knock outs and gives up boxing for five years and then comes back as a stronger and more confident boxer and the story takes a new turn from here .

Toofan as the title suggest is packed with boxing bouts for the major part of the film. Paresh Rawal and Mrinal Deshmukh play other key role. Shankar Ehsaan Loy lead a talented team of composer.

The trailer of the film is already winning bouquets and being bashed by brick bats . The film is to be released on july 26 on the Amazon Ott .
