FETISH: WHAT SELENA GOMEZ'S NEW MUSIC VIDEO IS ALL ABOUT

Artists these days are breaking all the stereotypes and shackles they are bound by and are on the path of rediscovering themselves. It might as well be referred to as a new trend because everyone is striving to be different. It's concomitant that the two new artists who have become a part of this band wagon are—Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. With his latest album Purpose, Justin showed a side of his that his fans had never seen. He was vulnerable, expressive and vocal, and his songs were a reflection of his state of mind. Likewise, Selena Gomez's first video Bad Liar was a big enough jolt and then Fetish followed which happened to be an even bigger jolt for the fans and viewers.

In Fetish, Selena breaks the monotony of all the previous videos that she has ever been a part of. It's mysterious, weird, cringe-worthy, a subtle version of Black Swan maybe? Basically, it was everything that a Selena Gomez video had never been. She's seen eating a piece of glass, soap, lipstick, eyelash curler (God! wasn't easy to recollect all of this again).

The video has, of course, astounded a major part of the population and I fall into that category easily. It's the various interpretations that have surfaced after the video released which is interesting. The pop star and international icon haven't come out with any explanation about the video (not that she has to), maybe because she's letting the world interpret it as of now.

That makes sense, to me at least. Society is really good at making us feel things we wouldn't ever want to.

To say the least, it's one thing I concur with (on a lighter note of course)

Maybe. That's all I'd like to think about for this particular explanation.
