The 22nd International Indian Film Academy awards ( IIFA) awards concluded last night on June 4 with the film stars, The IIFA 2022 event was held on June 3 , while the Main Awards Night was on Saturday. It was an event held at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Yas Island where the entire Bollywood celebrated Hindi cinema.
Back after a long gap of two years due to Covid-19 , IIFA was scheduled for May 19-21 which was postponed to June 3-4 after the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Many Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan , Vicky Kaushal , Shahid Kapoor , Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan , Kriti Sanon , Ananya Panday , AR Rahman , Sara Ali Khan , Tiger Shroff , Yo Yo Honey Singh , Nora Fatehi and Pankaj Tripathi attended the ceremony. The show was hosted by Salman Khan , Maniesh Paul and Riteish Deshmukh.
The biographical film Shershah, based on Captain Vikram Batra, won the Best Picture award , while Vishnu Vardhan won the Best Director award for the film .
The same Vicky Kaushal won the Best Actor (Male) Award in a Leading Role for Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham . Kriti Sanon won the Best Actor (Female) Award in a Leading Role for playing the surrogate in Mimi.

It was a lotus evening adorned with stars on the IIFA Green Carpet, The evening became even more memorable when the stars came on stage. Where Nora Fatehi's dance was of Kamal. On the other hand , Sara Ali Khan danced on Chaka Chak while Ananya Panday gave a scintillating performance to Gehriyan. Abhishek Bachchan also stunned the stage with a scintillating performance on his old songs in the presence of wife Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya. The show concluded with Shahid Kapoor's tribute to late music director Bappi Lahiri.
