In 2014, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon entered the acting world with the successful film 'Heropanti'. Now after nine years, the pairing of Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon has come together in the film 'Ganapath' directed by Vikas Bahl, but the film starts boring within ten minutes. It is a film that tells the story of a dystopian future, in which people are seen raising their voices against the system for justice and truth. Vikas Bahl claims that he has brought such a film, but unfortunately, it is a very poor film.

Story:

The story of the film starts with Dalpati (Amitabh Bachchan). The film shows a world where the gap between the rich and the poor has increased considerably. The world has been destroyed as a result of war. During this time, the rich, powerful, and greedy people who survived created their own new world named 'Silver City'. There is no place for the poor in this world, they are thrown out of this silver city. These poor people, wander around even for food and water. The rich exploit the poor for their petty purposes. These poor people, who yearn for every little thing, fight among themselves. To stop these daily fights, the oligarchs create a boxing ring and Rules are made that they have to fight in the boxing ring only.

When John and Dalini, who live in Silver City, learn of this, they take the boxers to Silver City and use them as pawns in boxing betting. In a way, this bet makes Dalini and Aamir poorer and poorer. A child living his life with this helplessness and despair asks his mother in the slum when this bad phase will end, then she replies that as predicted by Dalpati, one day Ganapath will come and bless them with good wishes. Then good days will return.

The temple priest Dalpati had predicted that one day a warrior would come who would save these poor people. Now who would be this warrior? On this, before dying at the hands of John, Dalpati had said that he would be his grandson and Shiva and Meera's son Ganapath. But after killing Meera, John takes her son i.e. Guddu with him to his Silver City, where when he grows up, Guddu (Tiger Shroff) spends every day indulging in debauchery and alcohol with eleven-twelve girls. One day, seeing John's girlfriend clinging to Guddu, John orders Guddu to be buried alive, but one of John's assistants sends Guddu to a poor colony to meet Shiva. Shiva teaches everyone martial arts and fighting without weapons. Shiva feels that Ganapath has come as per Dalpati's prediction. But Ganapath is expert in debauchery. He is not capable of fighting anyone nor does he want to learn martial arts and fighting from Shiva. But Ganapath alias Guddu falls in love with Jassi. Then Jassi creates a drama, and a powerful man takes Jassi (Kriti Sanon) with him, at whose hands Ganapath gets injured. After that, he learns everything from Shiva, he becomes powerful and expert in fighting and defeats that powerful man in wrestling and goes to rescue Jassi, but there he calls John. Seeing Ganapath alias Guddu expertise in wrestling, John takes Guddu with him. Ganapath starts wrestling as John's partner in his wrestling business. And then in his own way proves Dalpati's prediction correct.

Review:

How sad it is that with the story, script, and direction of Vikas Bahl, action heroes like Tiger Shroff, and national award-winning actresses like Kriti Sanon and megastar of the century Amitabh Bachchan, the audience stopped watching the film 'Ganapath' after just five minutes. There is only confusion in the whole story. It seems that the filmmaker created a strange story by mixing Mahabharata, Gautam Buddha, and other stories of history, but could not create coherence between the stories. After all, the audience does not matter in the eyes of the producers who spent two hundred crores on such a poor film. There is no clue about the story. There is no clue about the script either. Anything starts happening at any time. A song comes anywhere. There is a severe lack of entertainment, emotions, and drama in the film. The climax of the film is very poor.

The story of the film is set in the future, in which Guddu speaks the Marathi Hindi Tapori language of Mumbai, his grandfather Dalpati appears to be the head of a village in Punjab and his parents appear to be characters from Greek mythology. Protecting people from boxing matches is beyond logic. The director also could not portray the romance between Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff properly. Meaning everything is a confusing situation.

On one hand, Ganpat's mother, who lives in a poor slum, is seen dressed like a Greek character, while Kriti Sanon's mother is seen in a saree and bindi. Chinese, foreigners, and Indians also live in this colony. But this story is from India. Now the viewer is unable to understand what the truth actually is. The background music of Lord Ganpati plays during the action scenes, how it was passed by the censor board is beyond comprehension.

Acting

Amitabh Bachchan leaves his mark even in the cameo role of Dalpati. Tiger Shroff has forgotten to dance in the role of Ganapath aka Guddu. The wrestling scenes look artificial. Even in emotional scenes, Tiger remains present with a completely flat face. Kriti Sanon is seen doing martial arts for the first time. Her character was written properly. Rasheen Rehman definitely leaves his mark in the role of Shiva. No one suits any other character properly. Elli Avram also disappoints.
