The success of the Kannada film 'KGF' gave life to the Kannada film industry. After that, some films including 'KGF Chapter 2' created new records of success. These were completely loud and action-oriented films. Now writer and director MG Srinivas has come up with an action-packed Kannada film 'Ghost' along the same lines, where ghosts have no existence. While coal was important in Yash's film 'KGF', gold is important in 'Ghost', in which Shiva Rajkumar plays the role of a gangster. This film has been released in Kannada as well as Hindi and other languages.

Story:

The story revolves around a gangster and his team who take over a prison in search of justice and want to grab a thousand kilos of gold hidden inside the prison. His courage to take over the jail entangles CBI officer Prasanna so much that he remains entangled till the end. The entire police administration and CBI officer Charan Raj (Jayaram) are worried to find out for what purpose the gangster has taken over the jail. The game of cat and mouse continues between the investigating officer and the gangster. Before the investigating officer can understand the motive of the gangster, he is removed from the case and the case is handed over to another investigating officer. The story passes through many twists and turns and the secret that is revealed is surprising.

Review:

Despite being an action-oriented heist film with ear-splitting sound, priority has been given to elements different from the usual action films, but the female lead character has no importance in it. The filmmaker's main focus has been to show as much action as possible while maintaining the mystery. The way gangsters have been glorified in the film is not suitable for any society. Is there a gangster bigger and more powerful than every Chief Minister of our country? If so, what are the reasons for this? After all, why does the police administration of the state follow the orders of the gangster instead of the Chief Minister of the state? Should this be considered? The filmmaker did not tell the background of this gangster anywhere. After all, why is a gangster a messiah among every common man? Does the film's writer and director MG Srinivas want to portray the gangster of his film as great and the messiah of the society like the famous gangster 'Tiger Nageshwar Rao' in Tamil Nadu, but why is he like this? This film does not talk about this. Some people may also remember Shahrukh Khan's film "Jawaan" while watching this film.

To do something new, director MG Prasanna has used a rat instead of a pigeon or a dog to carry the message in his film. This rat is a well-trained rat. We all know that the rat has a habit of gnawing the paper, but in the film, the rat works to deliver the paper with the message written on it between two people. There is definitely some innovation at the level of the plot, but the weak script and ear-splitting sound of the film weaken the film. In his film, the filmmaker has also thrown light on how far people can go for justice, and liberation and to justify the wrong. Sadly, he has failed to convey this to the people properly. It is believed that in this world there are seven people with the same face, you can introduce a person with the face of a dead person in the story. But the writer and director forgot from where they would get the voice of the dead person and this is where the film becomes fake.

M.G. Srinivas's directorial vision is fine to some extent. In this kind of action film, songs and female characters do not have any importance, but the lack of emotion and entertainment in the film is irritating. Hindi dubbing also ruined the film.

The action scenes of the film have definitely turned out well. But at some point, even these action scenes start boring. Special effects and VFX are the lifeblood of this film. The film's cameraman Mahendra Simha has shot the action sequences very effectively.

The editing of the film is messed up. The way the story repeatedly switches between present and past also creates confusion.

Acting:

Sixty-one-year-old experienced and veteran artist Dr. Shiv Raj Kumar played the role of a gangster and has acted brilliantly. He has made the character miraculous by giving depth to his acting. Jayaram and Prashant Narayan leave a mark with their acting. Prashant Narayan in the role of CBI officer and Satya Prakash in the role of jailer have tried to do complete justice to their roles. Whereas the writer and director have not done justice to the character of Prashant Narayan. Anupam Kher is seen in a small role but is unable to leave any impact. Archana Jois's talent has been wasted in the role of a young journalist.
