For God's Sake, Do Not Distort History In Your Films

The glorious first Hockey team of independent India thrashed England in the 1948 Olympics final by 4-0.Led by the great Kishan Lal with the legendary K.D. Singh “Babu” as the Vice Captain the invincible team had illustrious player viz. Balbir Singh Sr.,Leslie Claudius, R.S.Gentle, Latief Ur Rahman, Leo Pinto et al and to date we Indians are most justifiably extremely proud of that magnificent team.The recent Hindi Film “Gold” is a gross distortion of the facts related to the monumental achievements of that wonderful team in that not a single player is named ,the score lines are wrong and peerless sporting skills of that era are not depicted at all. Cinematic liberties for dramatisation are tolerable but insulting players by giving them imaginary names and showing that India beat England 4-3 instead of 4-0 is just intolerable. I wonder as to how CBFC passed this film replete with wilful historical distortions?Deservedly the deplorable movie  bombed at the box office sinking without a trace.
