FORBES INDIA CELEBRITY 100 LIST: SALMAN KHAN BECOMES THE SULTAN OF INDIAN CELEBS FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Double dhamaka for all Salman Khan fans out there!

Today, Salman's much-awaited film Tiger Zinda Hai has released which is like a Christmas treat for all Bhaijaan fans. Another good news for his fans that the actor has also topped the 2017 Forbes India Celebrity top 100 list with Rs 232.83 crore revenue earnings.  Tiger Salman retains the top position in Forbes list for the second successive year, despite the low box office performance of his film Tubelight.

In 2016, Khan had earned Rs 270.33 crore after his film Sultan saw a successful run at the box office. Another film that contributed to his last year’s earnings was the Sooraj Barjatya-directed Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in late 2015.

The second position was also retained by the Baadshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan with income of Rs 170.5 crore. The actor had two offerings this year—Raaes and Jab Harry Met Sejal. Like Bhaijaan's Tubelight,  the films couldn’t stand up to the success of SRK's previous films like Happy New Year and Chennai Express.

The newly-wed Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli came in at number three with earnings of Rs 100.72 crore in 2017.  Although the top three held on to their ranks, their cumulative earnings declined by almost 20 percent, down to Rs 504.05 crore compared to last year’s total of Rs 626.52 crore.

Akshay Kumar and Former Indian Batsman Sachin Tendulkar rounded the Top 5 with earnings of Rs 98.25 crore and Rs 82.50 crore respectively. With blockbuster hits like Dangal and critically acclaimed Secret Superstar, Aamir Khan came in at sixth with earnings of Rs 68.75 crore in the year 2017.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is the only female to make it to the top 10 by securing the seventh position with Rs 68 crore earnings in the year 2017. Her tv series Quantico and Hollywood debut flick Baywatch play a major part to be on top 10 list.

The ace cricketer MS Dhoni stands at eighth position with Rs. 63.77 crore while actors Hrithik Roshan (Rs. 63.12 crores) and Ranveer Singh  (Rs. 62.63 crores) took the ninth and tenth spot respectively.
