Those days are gone when just a poster and trailer of the movies are enough to create a buzz. Today the filmmakers come up with planned and full-fledged promotional strategies to drag the audiences to the theatres to watch their films. Now-a- days promotions have become a compulsory part of a release of the film and Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Pad Man is no different. The release of a Superhero film Pad Man is just one week away and actor Akshay Kumar is leaving no stone unturned to promote his upcoming social drama and also spread awareness about menstrual hygiene. From interviews to press conferences to social media promotions, the Pad Man team is doing every possible thing to challenge the stigma around periods during the promotions of Pad Man.
To promote the film, actors Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor have collaborated with various YouTube channels to spread the message that there is no reason to shy away from discussing periods and related issues or hide away the fact that women bleed. Producer of the film and actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna also started a social media movement, #PadManChallenge by posing with a with a sanitary pad and tagged her industry friends to take it forward from there as a part of the social media promotions.
Here are all the 5 social media movements that the team of Pad Man has started.
