The grand wedding of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina ( when will she start calling herself Katrina Kaushal , or will see change her name ? ) Is now a part of history - Ali Peter John
The newly married couple flew by a chartered helicopter from the venue of the wedding to reach Mumbai and then fly to Maldives for their honeymoon .
The media which was kept away from the ceremony is now shamelessly finding all kinds of ways to keep "the richest star marriage in Bollywood " , there is a another reception to be held after the couple returns from their honeymoon and there is speculation again about who will be invited to it and who will not .
The stories will continue , but I am fascinated by one single story which says it all for the most talked about marriage in a long time .
It is the exciting story about the cake that was cut at the " sangeet " ceremony at the Six Senses Hotel where the entire real life drama of the star - marriage happened and kept the millions of star - crazy fans and others in a high state of expectation.
Every man and woman and every creation of the God above , including the specks of sand , the drops of water and every leaf on every tree and even every grain of rice or wheat or daal has a beginning , a middle and an end , which forms a complete story. And so this cake at the sangeet ceremony also has a story which at least I cannot get over .
The cake was designed by Ms Myra Jhunjhunwala of the well-known Vanilla Patisserie from Delhi . The cake was baked at the Six Senses Hotel itself . It was a five - tiered cake made in white and blue colours .
It contained forty to sixty boxes of berries ( ber) imported from Italy with Italian chefs flown in to supervise the baking of the cake which weighed between forty six to fifty kilos .
It took two days and many junior chefs and bakers to bake the cake . It finally cost the hosts a royal sum of four and a half lakh of rupees . It was served at the sangeet ceremony .
The cake was the personal choice of the bride , Katrina , who I am told is a foody and loves all kinds of food and especially desserts from different parts of the world .
I have no right to comment on luxuries like this , but when I see a mother or a mother and child , dirty and scantily dressed begging at a signal, pointing out to their flat and wrinkled stomachs and knock at the closed glass windows of some of the most expensive and luxurious cars and say in a trembling voice, "do din se khaana nahi khaaya " , then the human being and the little bit of humanity wakes me up and worry .
If only such luxuries and other luxuries like the number of security men protecting every Tom , Ganapath and Hariya could at least be curtailed or drastically cut down ( who are these special human beings so very scared of ?
Aren't these unknown faces the same people who have put those special and powerful human beings in the scary but powerful places and positions they are in ? )
