Gamchha is the symbol of 40 crore Indians – Manoj Tiwari on Indian Idol 10
Its rightly said that a person’s attire represents his origins and ethnicity. It is a mark of respect for an individual to be recognized by his outfit. A similar incident happened on the sets of India’s biggest singing reality show – Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol 10 where they were celebrating ‘Colors of India’. In the upcoming episodes, each contestant from the Top 13 will represent a folk song from a different state in India. Renowned personality from the Bhojpuri industry Manoj Tiwari graced the stage celebrating the vibrant colours of India along with the judges Neha Kakkar, Anu Malik, Vishal Dadlani and host Maniesh Paul.
The ever witty Maniesh Paul welcomed Bhojpuri Superstar Manoj Tiwari while donning a traditional gamcha (a traditional thin, coarse cotton towel). An elated Manoj Tiwari was pleased with the gesture and expressed that he is a true son of the soil and is always connected to his roots. The Superstar who is also an accomplished singer couldn’t contain his excitement as he witnessed the talented Top 13 contestants perform on the coveted stage of Indian Idol.
Manoj Tiwari said, “I am excited to be a part of the folk special on Indian Idol 10. The gamcha that Maniesh is wearing represents the attire of 40 crore Indians! It signifies the hard work and efforts of millions of Indians. Also, for me, folk music is like eating fresh vegetables straight from the fields, drinking water directly from a well and listening to a koyal’s voice while sitting amidst the field. It’s an inseparable part of my identity. Folk music is remarkable and represents India’s ethnicity and rich cultural heritage in the entire world. It’s a wonderful experience to witness such talented singers on Indian Idol 10!”
