Mumbai, Date: A film that changed the course of Indian Cinema, one made from pure passion and a film that has transcended the boundaries of time and age, Gaurang Doshi's Aankhen is a true gem. Many years after release, the film still manages to awe audiences across the world and Doshi is leaving no stone unturned to ensure it travels far and wide. The producer has just announced that the film will now release in China and Saudi Arabia (dubbed in their respective languages) for the audience to enjoy. Having collaborated recently with some of the biggest names internationally including Stephan Lam in China and the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi, Doshi has proved his mettle as a filmmaker time and again.
Being one of the very few films that has made it to both these markets, Aankhen’s release in Chinese and Arabic is a major breakthrough for Indian filmmakers. Aankhen will release in over 20000 screens across the two countries. Doshi will also be distributing his upcoming films Happy Anniversary, Aankhen Returns and Indians in Danger, in China later this year. Doshi associated with Weijie Zhu, one of the largest and most coveted distributors in China to provide Hindi movies to the Chinese audience and with Jane Saho in Saudi Arabia to cater to the Arabic viewers.
“Aankhen will always be very special to me for many reasons – it gave me an identity and Mr. Bachchan. Having it release in China and Saudi Arabia after so many years is reassurance and encouragement to continue making films that have global stories. There is immense scope for us filmmakers internationally and I am glad we are getting the opportunity to explore it with our films”, says Gaurang Doshi.
Gaurang Doshi has made some path-breaking movies - Aankhen, Deewaar: Let’s Bring Our Heroes Home and Bawander to name a few. He also won four Limca Book records for his eccentric work. He inherited the art of filmmaking from his father late Mr. Vinod Doshi, who gave the audience, hits like Saccha Jhootha, Naastik, Dil, Beta & many more under the banner of VR Pictures. Now being at the helm himself, Gaurang aims to deliver more unconventional content under his newly incarnated Gaurang Doshi Productions
