GEETIKA VIDYA HAS JUST RETURNED FROM BERNALE TALENT CAMPUS

Jyothi Venkatesh

Born and brought up in Haryana, India, Geetika Vidya is a film and theatre actor. She is an EnglishLiterature graduate from Delhi University, where at Kirori Mal College she was introduced to theatre by thespian Keval Arora through the college theatre society, ‘The Players’. As a student, Vidya acted, directed, and wrote scripts for the stage and the street. She acted in more than 300 shows of ‘Zangoora – India's First Bollywood Musical’. Her first feature film role was as the lead in Ivan Ayr’s ‘Soni’, which had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in August 2018, and thereafter won Best Film at the 2018 Pingyao Film Festival (China) and Best Film on Gender Equality at the 2018 MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, and released on Netflix in January 2019. Her independent feature film ‘BarahbyBarah’ directed by Gaurav Madan, is in its post-production stage and will be ready for festival rounds soon. She has also acted in 'Thappad' by Anubhav Sinha, released on the 28th of February, 2020. In February 2020, Geetika was invited to be a part of the prestigious Berlinale Talent Campus. The Berlinale is an exclusive platform for artistic exploration, consideration, and entertainment. It is one of the most sizeable public film festivals in the world, enticing tens of thousands of visitors worldwide each year.
