Gulzar: When we talk about Gulzar, the only image that comes to anyone's mind is that of a lyricist, writer, and film director. Gulzar became most famous for his songwriting style. Talking about his first song, the lyricist wrote the very first song “Mora Gora Ang Lai Le, Mohe Shyam Rang De Dai.” It was written which was far away from the reality of Bollywood. Talking about his screenplay, in Rajesh Khanna's Anand film, he wrote the famous dialogue, "Zindagi badi honi chahiye, lambi nahi" where a person gets ready to accept death with a smile. As a film director, he made 'Aandhi' and 'Mausam' where sensitivity was at its peak.

Let us tell you that Gulzar Sahab was born in Pakistan. But during the partition of India and Pakistan, the writer and his family came to India. Also, due to the poor conditions at home at that time, he started working in a very short time at a very small age. But during the partition, he saw many things which he could never forget. Although the lyricist was only 11 to 12 years old at that time, he still remembers that bad period very well. He tried to express that memory through poetry and then he wrote….

Band Aankhon se roj mai sarhad paar chala jata hun.

Was fond of writing from a young age (Gulzar)

When Gulzar Sahab himself wanted to forget the terrible scene of partition, he said, “With time, I realized that saying less means more, Saying too much dilutes the meaning.” After this, he also wrote fun-filled songs. How well the lyricist wrote, “Goli Maar bheje Mein, Bheja Saala Shor Karta Hai.” Let us tell you that Gulzar Sahab was fond of writing poetry from a young age. Due to this hobby of his, his relatives used to scold him and used to say that just writing poetry would not make his family run. They also used to say, “He will ask for a loan from his brothers and eat food in the langar of Gurudwara.”

Worked in the garage

After which, in the year 1950, Gulzar ji came to Mumbai to support his brother.  Not aware of the fact, of what they were going to get in this city of dreams. The film world was beyond his imagination. However, beyond this, he worked in a small garage in Mumbai, and from there he started getting inclined towards films. Let us tell you that during that time, Gulzar lived as a tenant in the house of one of the great film lyricists, Rajendra Krishna. After this, the lyricist also came in contact with Shailendra. But since he could not work in the garage, he worked as an assistant with Bimal Roy. But his real talent was still not revealed to everyone.

But when Shailendra came to know that Gulzar was fond of writing, Shailendra put pressure on Gulzar to work on Bimal Roy's film. Shailendra told Bimal Roy's associate Debu Sen about Gulzar. After which Gulzar was made to sing the song “Mora Gora Ang Lai Le, Mohe Shyam Rang De Dai” from the film Bandini. But after this, it was still difficult for him to guess that he was going to dominate the industry.

Have received an Oscar

But As Soon As Bimal Roy Died, Gulzar Became Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Assistant. Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Films Gave A Boost To His Career. Also, An Excellent Screen Play And Song Made Him Famous. Great Films Like Ashirwad, Anand And Guddi Can Be Counted In The List Of These Films. After Which Gulzar Sahab Also Received The Filmfare Award For The First Time For The Film Anand. Apart From This, He Has Received The Oscar Award For Best Song For The Song Jai Ho Written By Him In The Film Slumdog Millionaire.

The Lyricist Was Nervous

Let us tell you that when he received this award, he became very nervous due to which he did not go to receive the award. But little did they know that this sequence was not going to stop after that.
