Hair stylist Jashmina Jain opens up about her line of work: Client satisfaction is very crucial

Associate Salon Director and a hairstylist at Florian HUrel Hair Couture, Jashmina Jain says that in her profession, making sure the clients are happy is a priority. She says that regularly training and updating yourself is also important.

“Client satisfaction is very crucial. I remember one day when I had a hairdresser on my chair for a haircut. She loved cutting her hair with me but that day was different. She told me that her son was in hospital and was battling for life. She couldn’t handle it, so to feel a little better she came for her haircut. Just had tears throughout her haircut. I can’t forget that day. I felt more than a hairstylist for her that day,” she says.

She adds, “Florian Hurel is very strict and firm about training at FHHC. We will have a mandatory training every week for the staff in the company.  All of us will be trained hierarchy wise and make sure we are updated with the trends and create trends for others.”

Talking about how she entered this line, she says, “My passion for hair, anyone’s hair, and the love of it; to create, style, colour made me pursue this line of work. While working for so many years, I loved managing things around me. I wanted everything around me comfortable for my clients, so I just got into a little habit. After working since 2004, I wanted to do something beyond just cutting hair, and wanted to run a team flawlessly. I enjoy management, admin work, supervising, hence when FHHC approached me, I felt ready for it. Just need to prove it now.”

Balancing innovation with classic styles can be a challenge, she says, adding, “Balancing can be a challenge if you limit yourself, not everyone comes with such demands, what you create for them is demand. Make them look confident about anything you do to their hair. Teach them to love their hair, style it. Teach them to make your classic hairstyle into an innovative hairstyle with some simple tricks,” she says.
