Harrdy Sandhu strikes with electrifying single, ‘Bijlee Bijlee’

Harrdy Sandhu, the voice behind chartbusters like ‘Naah’, ‘Soch’, ‘Backbone’, and ‘Hornn Blow’ released his latest single, ‘Bijlee Bijee’ that brings back the Punjabi-pop sound that he originally pioneered.

It marks his reunion with the dream team of BPraak, Jaani, and ArvindrKhaira post his 2018 hit 'Kya Baat Ay,’ a song that redefined the sonic landscape of Punjabi music.

Talking about how all of it came about, Harrdy said, “‘Bijlee Bijlee’ is one of those songs that has taken its own sweet time to come out because we had been working on it for the longest time but due to the unfortunate circumstances in the past few months, its release kept on delaying.

Nonetheless, I am more than ecstatic that it’s out now! It was so much fun working with my favourites Praak, Jaani, ArvindrKhaira, Palak, and the whole team that brought this project to life.

Words fall short to describe this experience since I’ve been away from the recording studio for a while because of my acting projects; now my heart is full, I have come back to my first love - singing! I hope you like ‘Bijlee Bijlee’ and support me as always!”

'Bijlee Bijlee' is an uptempo easy-listening song that has Harrdy's vocals meticulously built around a dance-infused beat created by National Award winner, BPraak.

Penned down by one of the greatest songwriters of this generation, Jaani, the lyrics paint the picture of him falling for an "out-of-the-world" love interest and what follows is larger than life affair in the grandest way possible conceptualised by the legendary director, ArvindrKhaira.

BPraak said, “When we were planning 'Bijlee Bijlee' in the studio, all we knew was the fact that it has to be different; completely away from any current trends and make music that’s fresh.

Harrdy paji genuinely out-delivered himself and made the vocals sound even better than I expected!

It was an amazing time to get together with my brother after so long and create much more than a song; we are creating history right here, right now!”

Jaani added, “Harrdypaji and I have made so many songs together that we work in perfect unison. I wrote ‘Bijlee Bijlee’ with him in my mind.

I feel nobody else can match his energy and I don’t think anyone could do justice to this song like him. I am so proud of the final product and I wish nothing but the best for him!’

Bollywood starlet, Palak Tiwari makes her debut opposite the former sportsman showcasing her celestial looks along with her stupendous dance moves in her first-ever music video.

“Working on ‘Bijlee Bijlee’ has literally been a magical experience for me! An amazing song, a brilliant team, and a great opportunity; right out of my wishlist! I hope everyone savours it to the fullest as we do,” concludes Palak.

Cricketer by heart, singer by profession, and actor by chance, Harrdy Sandhu has done it all from delivering songs that have collected almost 4 billion views to foraying into Bollywood with movie projects such as ‘83’ under his belt and being the first Indian artist ever to be associated with a football club, Manchester City; this former-sportsman is a class apart.

The euphonious singer has released singles on major record labels including Desi Melodies, T-Series, Sony Music and more, that have not only trended on YouTube but have received exceptional support on streaming platforms.

Be it singing electrifying dance songs like 'Naah' that later got placed in Ayushman Khurana's 'Bala' or heartbreaking ballads such as 'Yaar Ni Miliyaa', his versatility knows no bounds.

His breakout hit, 'Soch' was one of the first-ever Punjabi songs to be adapted in a Bollywood film.

In 2017, 'Backbone' became the first Punjabi song to reach 100 million views. His massively popular track, 'Kya Baat Ay' landed at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

His voice and appearance in the song, 'Chandigarh Mein' from Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor starrer, 'Good Newwz' propelled him further into Bollywood.

Last year, Harrdy unveiled a never-before-seen avatar in the music video of 'Titliaan' opposite Sargun Mehta, garnering a surreal response.

Harrdy's acting career began in 2014 with the Punjabi action-comedy film, 'Yaaran Da Katchup' followed by 'Mera Mahi NRI'.

In 2019, he signed a role in Kabir Khan's '83', a biographical sports film based on the events of the 1983 World Cup and is currently shooting an unannounced movie for Reliance Entertainment.
