Can one really help the company from falling apart after terminating the chairman itself? This is a sad scenario indeed for the company and Hollywood too. The American film Producer Harvey Weinstein of The Weinstein Company has been sacked amidst a multitude of sexual allegations dating back decades. When the claims were first reported in The New York Times, last week, in a statement issued by Weinstein he apologised for causing "a lot of pain". He later contradicted his own statement.
Harvey Weinstein sent an email to his Hollywood associates seeking for help to abstain from being fired by his own company. In the email, he said he was "desperate" for help and pleaded for the film industry to support him. Meryl Steep was appalled by the "disgraceful" news and praised the women who reported the alleged abuse as "heroes" while Academy Award winner, Dame Judi Dench, who won accolades for her role in the Weinstein movie Shakespeare in Love, called the claims "horrifying".
According to BBC, for all those who claimed to have seen the email, it read as follows-
This news indeed comes as a shock and we hope the women get their due justice at the earliest.
