Hema Malini's 75th Birthday Special: 16 October 2023 is the Amrit Mahotsav year (75th year) of Hema Malini's life. And, for Hema's fans, she is still the same 'Swapna Sundari' as she was in 'Sapno Ka Saudagar' with Raj Kapoor 55 years ago. 'Sapno Ka Saudagar' (1968) was Hema Malini's debut film in the Hindi film industry. Although that film was also not her first film. At the age of 13, she worked in a Tamil film. This is the age at which a teenage girl does not understand anything. Hema Malini had only one dance in that Tamil film. Since then many spring has passed... but Hema ji's dance and the light on her face are still the same in her personality.

The producer was CV Sridhar, he rejected Hema saying "This girl is not a heroine material.” That day and today, that girl did not look back at her education and childhood. She insisted that now she has to do only acting and dancing. This is the same Hema who is full of "heroine material" even at the age of 75. She has taken a little distance from films and has entered politics, so both her daughters (Isha and Ahana) also find themselves inferior to their mother. Hema Malini does not remember the number of her films. Once in an interview, I asked what would be the number of her films. She replied, "Do you remember how many articles would have been written in 'Mayapuri'?" And when she laughed, everyone laughed. She had told her PR to “make a list of my films and give it to him”. This was when there was no internet.

Hema Malini has worked with all the stars. From introducing herself with Raj Kapoor (in 'Sapno Ka Saudagar') to introducing Shahrukh Khan (in 'Dil Aasna Hai') and then to her previous film (Ramesh Sippy's) 'Shimla Mirchi' which came in the year 2020. But she has done most films with Dharmendra. Dharmendra - Hema duo have worked together in 40 films and most of them have been successful.

Now on her 75th birthday, Hema ji's political fans want her to continue leading her parliamentary constituency Mathura (where she has been MP since 2014). Here, many Bollywood producers are eager to sign her to work in their films. Both the daughters of Hema-Dharmendra want their parents to spread the magic of their memorable pair on screen once again.
