HERE'S HOW LATA MANGESHKAR REACTED TO VAANI KAPOOR'S 'NI MAIN YAAR MANANA NI' By Team Bollyy 24 Oct 2017 | Updated On 24 Oct 2017 07:27 IST in News & Gossip New Update Follow Us Share Befikre actress Vaani Kapoor has done what she's best at! The actress recently showcased her sizzling and killer dance moves in the official remake a chartbuster from Yash Chopra’s 1973 cult release Daag. Though the rehashed version of Ni Main Yaar Manana Ni garnered millions of views overnight, it seems Vaani failed to impress the legendary singer of the original song, Lata Mangeshkar. Sharing her thoughts about the remix version of Ni Main Yaar Manana Ni Lata Mangeshkar recently said in an interview, “I haven’t heard this new version. Nor would I want to hear it. So, I wouldn’t want to comment on it. But in principle, I’ve always been opposed to remixes and cover versions of classics. They shouldn’t be touched. So many of Pancham’s, Madan Mohan’s and Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s songs have been tampered with; beats and lyrics are modified. It’s like rooms being added or removed from the Taj Mahal. These composers knew what they were doing. I don’t think their efforts need any boosting.” The original version of the peppy track was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Minoo Purshottam while the lyrics were written by legendary lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi and the song was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. On the other hand, the new version has been remixed by Hitesh Modak and sung by Yashita Sharma. What's your take on this divide of the generations?
