HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER SPIN-OFF TO GET ANOTHER SHOT

Finally, it seems like there is going to be a How I Met Your Mother spin off. But the twist this time around is that 20th-Century Fox has decided to start all over again with new writers and a new cast.

The studio had made several attempts in past to create this spin-off titled How I Met Your Dad, but things didn’t work out. Earlier, an attempt was made to create the series in December last year with This Is Us co-producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger being named co-creators and Meg Ryan doing the voice over.

Now, according to the deadline, HIMYD is under development from scratch. Fox chairman Dana Walden told the site, “They will be starting from scratch. It’s one that’s been slowly cooked. If it’s the right idea the right execution, we’ll take that.”

After a memorable journey of 208 episodes and nine seasons, Ted Mosby eventually met his children’s mother on March 31, 2013. Though there was a mixed response from the fans, most of them vocally condemned the way the ending was handled.

The series was created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. Over the nine seasons, HIMYM was nominated 28 times for Emmy Awards, ultimately winning nine of them.

If How I Met Your Dad goes on to become a series, who would like to be the lead? What would you expect from the show? And what are your views on the controversial ending of HIMYM?
