In a warm and festive conversation, Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the deep significance of Diwali in his life and emphasized on celebrating this beautiful festival with love, family and gaiety. Known for his versatile talent and deep connection with the audience, Kapoor shared heartfelt thoughts and memories from his unique perspective on this festival of lights.
Reflecting on the impact of Diwali in his life, Ranbir said, “For me, Diwali is a sparkling blend of love, family and celebration. This festival holds a special place in my heart because since childhood I have seen the amazing glow of Diwali at my home, the out-and-out renovation of the house, the process of changing everything from the curtains inside the rooms, the aroma of the dishes, the relatives, the arrival of the guests, the Puja, all this forms a part of Diwali in my mind. A memorable image has been created. Some of my films were also released on Diwali, so the Diwali festival also brings many memories for me. Diwali has also been an inspiring journey for me, and I hope to be able to express my gratitude by giving good films that people will love. I wish everyone a very happy Diwali and a prosperous New Year.”
Delving into his memories, Ranbir recalled a very fond Diwali incident from his childhood. He said that at the age of around eight or nine, during the Lakshmi puja at RK Studios, Ranbir inadvertently forgot to take off his shoes before entering the Puja venue i.e. the prayer area of Lakshmi puja performed during Diwali. His father, Rishi Kapoor immediately stopped him and gave him a light slap, and told him about respecting the sacred places of worship. Today, when father Rishi Kapoor is no longer in this world, Ranbir misses him every day and remembers the many lessons taught by him and implements them.
When Ranbir was asked about the increasing excitement about Diwali, he mentioned the positive change in the trend of fireworks, he expressed happiness and said that now to celebrate Diwali beautifully, people have opted for fewer fireworks, which have Noise and air pollution. He gave importance to Diwali as a personal festival that should be celebrated with loved ones, believing that this way everyone’s enthusiasm for the Diwali festival will remain intact.
Discussing the experience of having many of his films released during Diwali, Ranbir Kapoor admitted the heartfelt excitement but also pointed to the disadvantages of spending less time with family during the festive season due to promotional commitments and other responsibilities. Still, he found the experience exhilarating.
On the question of how he is going to celebrate this Diwali, he said that he is ready to celebrate the Diwali festival with great pomp and show with his mom Neetu Kapoor, wife Alia Kapoor and daughter Raha Kapoor and many of his family friends and relatives. He is also planning to attend his colleagues’ Diwali celebrations with his family. This time he is very excited to celebrate his first Diwali with his little daughter Raha.
Alia Bhatt also shared her excitement about Diwali and said that Diwali is one of her favorite festivals, although she is not fond of firecrackers at all. She shared her love for Diwali and how, after marriage, she actively participated in festive rituals and puja with her mother-in-law Neetu ji at her home. Alia also stressed that Diwali should be enjoyed memorably with joy, gaiety, decorations, puja, meeting everyone and delicious foods but dangerous and loud firecrackers should be avoided so that no one faces any problems. Alia said that she and her family love animals very much. She has kept several cats and dogs and is also concerned about how much the explosions of firecrackers scare these creatures.
In a heartfelt message, Ranbir also expressed concern for the well-being of his two dogs, Leo and Guido, during the festivities and requested his fans to avoid bursting crackers on Diwali, saying that even if we keep our pets in such a place inside our house where less noise is heard, But how much trouble those innocent creatures like stray dogs, stray cats and birds suffer due to the noise of the explosions outside.
Why do only animals and birds, even the elderly, sick and very small children suffer from noise pollution and smoke?
While wishing everyone a happy Diwali, Ranbir and Alia also talked about enjoying this festival a lot.
