Ironically when the song was recorded, Shashi Kapoor did not at all like the song and had even dared to suggest to N.N. Sippy and Ravindra Jain to get another song composed for the film as he felt that no one will like the song. And of course he was proved wrong.

Kishore Kumar was so impressed by the song Ghungroo Ki Tarah Bajta Hi Raha Hoon Main that he was asked to sing by Ravindra Jain for Chor Machaye Shor that he insisted on calling Ravindra Jain as Ravindra Dada to his embarrassment as Kishore was elder to Ravindra Jain.
