After years of silence, Hrithik Roshan has finally opened up on the controversy surrounding Kangana Ranaut that has been hogging headlines for the past year-and-a-half. The actor, in a lengthy Twitter post on Thursday afternoon opened up about his side of the story and claimed to never have met “the lady in question” in private and openly denied ever having an affair with her.

The biggest piece of information from all of this is him refuting Kangana’s claims of a proposal that allegedly took place in Paris in 2014. This might just help cement his position of being a victim in the entire controversy. The verdict is still out though. “My passport details show no travel outside the country in January 2014, which is the date that the alleged engagement supposedly took place in Paris. The only so called proof presented of this alleged “relationship” was a photoshopped picture in the media. This was immediately exposed the very next day by friends including my ex wife. These questions are not even asked as we are taught to protect woman as we should,” he said in his letter on Twitter.

The row began last year when Kangana hinted at Hrithik being her “ex-boyfriend”. She said in an interview that she failed to understand “why exes do silly things to get your attention”. The actress lodged a legal complaint against Hrithik for “misusing” the confidential emails and photographs of the time when they were together. Hrithik later filed a complaint with the cybercrime cell, claiming an imposter had been emailing Kangana from a bogus email ID pretending to be him. The brawl between the two has continued till date, with Kangana and her sister constantly accusing Hrithik.
