IIFA Awards (International Indian Film Academy) 2023 has concluded with full enthusiasm in Abu Dhabi this year. The enthusiasm to see Indian stars there on the 26th and 27th of May was less as compared to last year’s IIFA event. Now even after the passing of the awards, this year the discussion could not be the same as it used to be. The selection of Hrithik Roshan’s name as the Best Actor (Male) of this year is also said to be inconsistent. Hrithik has been given the award for his role as Vedha in his film ‘Vikram Vedha‘. Hrithik said after receiving the honor that after doing this role, the madness of his mind has been opened.

Hrithik said that he had prepared the role of Vedha for two years and gave expression on the screen. What he meant was how deeply involved he was in preparing for that role. Now the meaning of his said word Madness is being taken in different ways. Hrithik said that he studied the smallest of details to portray Vedha and in doing so discovered the craziness of his mind. He can know himself. Hrithik has thanked both Vedha and the Universe for this.

By the way, it is worth mentioning that in the history of IIFA, Hrithik Roshan’s name comes first among the stars to receive the Best Actor Award. He has received 7 IIFA awards including ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, ‘Jodha Akbar’, ‘Krrish’, and now ‘Vikram Vedha’. Even on this attainment of his, people say that how is this so? ‘Vikram Vedha’ is the Hindi remake of the 2017 South film (starring R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles). The story of a police officer and a con colliding was a big success in the South. To capitalize on the same success, directors Gayatri and Pushkar have collaborated with Bhushan Kumar to make it in Hindi. In the Hindi version, Hrithik plays the role of Vedha (played by Vijay Sethupathi in the South version).

This film made in Hindi has been declared a flop film of last year. To be awarded the Best Actor award for a flop film – a remake for which Hrithik had a scene in his mind (in his own words) – perhaps the craziness of one’s mind can be discovered.
