Acharya Cannes looks

Cannes 2023: The Cannes Film Festival is the number one film festival all over the world, and being the first to present a Kannada Film, there is one of the greatest achievements for actor and producer Iti Acharya. She may have taken away breaths with her captivating red carpet looks, but what made this year's Cannes a mind-blowing success for her was the representation and respect that she brought for her country. A firm believer in encouraging Indian designers, and that is why her final look at the closing ceremony featured styling by Mumbai-based Natasha Bohra.

Giving a gist of her journey at Cannes this year,  she says, "To be able to present my Kannada movie “Anukarne” which I have produced as well, at the Indian pavilion at Cannes film festival, was a huge step towards a new journey for me and something I would like to inspire my people towards. We need more Indian movies at Cannes. My enigmatic looks at Cannes were styled by Mumbai-based Natasha Bohra, who is a known celebrity stylist, whom I chose over working with any other international stylist.  Also, my association with international brands like bilologique recherche and L Raphael and Giants, like Loreal and Dessange, was unforgettable. Meeting and wearing some greatest  European designers was the highlight of Cannes 2023."

When asked to recount one memorable moment from her red-carpet appearance,  she recalls being face-to-face with Jennifer Lawrence. "It was an exhilarating moment when I was climbing up the red carpet and suddenly Jennifer Lawrence came down the stairs wearing black flats instead of heels to make a bold statement. I think that was my most unforgettable moment from the entire experience."

She bids Adieu to Cannes 2023 by sharing a vote of thanks, "I want to extend my gratitude to my team, my family for being a huge support, and my brother Abhi Acharya who has managed my entire Cannes 2023 participation. To the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, FICCI India, and NFDC for supporting me during my participation at Cannes 2023. A big shoutout to all these Indian Brands also - Nikita Tandon, Tarini Nirula Accessories, Khea Jewellery, Frontier, Haute Sauce, SOI, The Spatika, Brown Sugar, House of Evita, Dessange Bangalore for letting me represent them at Cannes.
