"I have played the role of single mother Bibha in the film 'Chidiyakhana'...”

In the play “Safed Kundli” by Shabana Azmi, no one noticed the girl who was seen in the crowd. At the age of sixteen, the same girl appeared in the role of Kanan in the Marathi film "Ayatya Gharat Ghareba". At the age of 18, when she appeared in Shyam Benegal's film "Sooraj Ka Satva Ghoda" as Jamuna, people started taking her seriously. But only three years later, she created a furor by playing the role of Sakina in the Shyam Benegal-directed film "Sardari Begum". He was awarded the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for this film. Yes yes! We are talking about National Award-winning actress Rajeshwari Sachdev. In her career of 32 years at the professional level, Rajeshwari Sachdev has always been giving new dimensions to her acting while acting with excellent directors and artists. In an acting career of 32 years, she has shown her acting prowess in about thirty-three films and 14 TV serials, including 4 Marathi and two English films. Rajeshwari Sachdev is currently in headlines for Manish Tiwari-directed film "Chidiyakhana", which will hit the theaters on June 2.

Presenting excerpts from a long conversation with Rajeshwari Sachdev.

Your acting career started in 1991 with a Marathi film. So how do you look back on your 32-year career today?

Well, it just keeps on growing. There were many ups and downs in my career. But I consider myself lucky that I have always got the opportunity to work with the best directors, the best actors. I always learned something new. My faith in myself grew. I knew from the beginning that this is what I wanted to do. I enjoy doing this work. Then the paths were made on their own. There is a lot to say about a career spanning 32 years. When people ask me what was the best work to date? So I proudly say that there is not one but many. I humbly say that if you have done a good deed, you have done it. It is not that this good deed fell on me just like that. I have seen continuous growth. How far we will reach, we did not know this even twenty years ago and we do not know even today. When people ask where you want to reach, I think that don't set your goal so high that if you don't reach there, you become a victim of depression and don't set the goal so low that you know that your path is much further than that. It was ahead. So, as an artist, it is not fair to put myself under any restrictions. We are working continuously. Good work keeps coming to me. Hope the good work will continue in the future. I did many films and many serials with Shyam Benegal’s uncle. Now under the direction of Manish Tiwari is the film "Chidiyakhana", which is being screened in theaters on June 2.

You are very choosy in the selection of films. So what was the reason for doing "Chidiyakhana"?

Earlier I had done the film 'Isk' with Manish Tiwari. At that time our son was in the lap. And we went to Banaras to shoot it. Ravi Kishan was also in this film. I really enjoyed doing this film with Manish Tiwari. My character in 'Isak' was also good. So I knew that if Manish had come to me again, he would have brought some good characters. When I read the story of 'Chidiyakhana', I liked the story very much. The story of the film revolves around Suraj, a 13-14-year-old boy. Who lives in a slum with his mother Bibha? It is not originally from Mumbai. Bibha is originally from Bihar. But due to some reasons, she is wandering from one city to another with her son. No one knows how long she will stay in Mumbai as well. Mother and son reach every city and try to establish their feet while trying to adopt the things there. It is a challenge for them. So it was a challenge for me to play such a character. The story is good, and the narrative is interesting. Manish believed in his story. He has also attached all the best actors including Prashanth Narayanan, Ravi Kishan, Govind Namdev, and Anjan Srivastava to his film. We are familiar with these artists. So it was believed that while shooting, we will enjoy working with good people in a good environment, and we will also learn something new. I have not seen this film myself. But I have worked. That's why I hope that this film will be liked by the audience of every category.

The Children's Film Society was associated with the production of this film, so is it a children's film?

There are also children. Children are important characters. There is nothing in this that children cannot see. The story of the film revolves around a child only. In this, many issues have been raised including the need for a playground for children. Football is a match that needs to be won. There is also an interaction between the kids in the school. While watching the movie you will realize that this movie talks about all the problems you face while living in a city.

What is your character in the movie "Chidiyakhana"?

I have played the character of Bibha in this film. She is from Bihar and ran away from home with her younger son. She wants to escape from her past. She doesn't want the shadow of her past to fall on her or her son Suraj, but wherever she goes, her past follows her. She is a single mother. He has his own problems in life. He also has to raise his son. Her safety is very important to him. She keeps her child together
