I Like To Fuse Reality And Fiction: Creator-Producer Siddharth Malhotra

On a professional high with the season 2 of his iconic show Sanjivani breaking records, creator-producer Siddharth Malhotra shares his experience on re-making a successful show and the idea behind it. Malhotra has always been inspired by real-life for his stories and believes that cinema and society are reflections of one another.

“I like to fuse reality and fiction when it comes to content. When we created season 1 of Sanjivani, we wanted to showcase the lives of doctors, their challenges, their celebrations and their journeys. While the core idea for season 2 remains the same, we have also tried to incorporate the humane angle of this profession. At a time when the work done by doctors is being diluted with fake stories and monetary motives, there is a genuine passion and love for humanity that doctors have which is being forgotten. Their nobility and willingness to be available at all hours for patients is laudable and we must celebrate that. Season 2 has that flavour”, says creator-Producer Siddharth Malhotra.

Producer-director Siddharth Malhotra has always set the bar high in every project he has taken on. Whether it was creating Dil Mil Gaye or Sanjivani at a time when these genres has remained unexplored for Indian audiences or directing a film like Hichki, which had a great run at the box office, Siddharth has always foreseen the changes in the audiences’ preferences.
