The much-awaited dramatic-romantic-patriotic-thriller ‘Gadar 2’ directed by  ‘showman’ Anil Sharma will release today ( Friday) to coincide with the Independence Day week festivities that will be organized all over India, before and on August 15^th., 2023  The four important elements of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha that still resonates deeply with the masses are its gripping storyline, soul-stirring music, dramatic scenes and powerful clap-worthy dialogues giving out a strong message of love, patriotic sentiments and the power of family emotions. The evergreen music of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha has stood the test of time and is still there in the playlists of most music lovers of all generations even after 22 years.

Helmed by veteran director-producer Anil Sharma, and produced by Zee Studios, ( against backdrop of 1971 Indo-Pakistan war era--also known as the Bangla Desh liberation war ) the period movie ‘Gadar 2’ features super-star Sunny Deol opposite stunning Ameesha Patel and handsome Utkarsh  Sharma opposite vivacious Simrat Kaur in lead roles in the primary cast. The supporting cast according to information available, includes Manish Wadhwa,( main negative role of Pakistani army major-general),  Luv Sinha, Gaurav Chopra, Rakesh Bedi Dolly Bindra and Nilofar Gesawat  “Even after 22 years, in sequel ‘Gadar 2’, macho Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel still have the same super-hit excellent screen-chemistry,” insists director Anil Sharma whose project is backed by Zee Studios.  The 2023 film Gadar 2 with soulful music by Mithoon Sharma is a sequel to the super-hit Gadar which was released in 2001.

Incidentally, Sunny Deol is remembered by his fans and audiences for uprooting and lifting a heavy hand pump in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha in 2001. Now, 22 years later. dahlia-kilo-ka haath wala rugged Sunny-paaji will be seen lifting a large heavy wooden wheel in the sequel of the film.

 Since there are patriotic undercurrents in ‘Gadar 2’, the lead pair Sunny Deol ( “Tara Singh”) and Ameesha Patel (“Sakeena”)  and singer Udit Narayan visited the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab ahead of the release of their film 'Gadar 2' as part of the promotional awareness.

The beautiful  Ameesha, who plays the role of Sakeena in the movie after 22 years, shared a video on her Instagram account where she was seen standing alongside Sunny Deol and Udit Narayan alongside a full contingent of BSF soldiers and with the whole border on the Attari-Indian side completely ‘housefull’.!!

Following this, netizens and viewers shared their excitement, praising the cast and in a patriotic fervor wrote "Jai Hind", "Vande Maataram", "Hindustan Zindabad !" and "Mera Bharat Mahaan !"

Prior to this, both the star actors had also attended the Beating the Retreat Ceremony. Sunny Deol posted on his Instagram: "Was honored to witness the Retreat ceremony at the Attari Border with the illustrious @bsf_punjab_frontier @bsf_india. Loved the energy and the fervor with which the atmosphere was filled with emphatic chants of #hindustanzindabad."

The movie Gadar 2 has already generated immense excitement after its trailer and the revamped version of the classic 'Gadar' song 'Mein Nikla Gaddi Leke' which gained immense praise for its distinct and more unique modern take on the track while still very much retaining the soul-essence of the original tracks composed in 2001 by veteran composer Uttam Singh.  The slightly re-arranged tracks were particularly praised for the singing of Udit Narayan, Aditya Narayan and Mithoon whose vibrant voices have connected with today’s generation.

'Gadar' was a massive hit when it was released back in 2001. As such, 'Gadar 2' will be set 22 years after the events of the first film which dealt with the post-India-Pakistan Partition. The movie will kick off from the post-Partition period and then proceed to the events leading up to the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, also known as the Third Indo-Pak War.

This will follow Tara Singh ( Sunny Deol) heading back to Pakistan after his son Charanjeet Singh ( young hero Utkarsh Sharma) is taken captive by the Pakistan Army, which leads to Tara Singh going all out to rescue and save his son, using his super-human-power in a dramatic display of high-octane action combat and explosive scenes

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol feels quite upset when certain people accuse film industry star actors and top filmmakers of “nepotism”. Reacts Sunny-paaji, “The nepotism debate has been spread apparently mostly by either frustrated or envious persons.  One has to understand that in society, in almost all families, the son or daughter generally tends to follow or step into his father’s family business or profession.  What is wrong, if any father, as his moral duty, wants to do something good for his own son or daughter? If not his own family, then who is the father working for? In the entertainment business, only the initial break-thru opportunity is given by the father. After that, the star-son or star-daughter will be successful and sustain and thrive only, in their acting career, only if he or she has the necessary talent, dedication, caliber and loads of luck at the box office. In most movies and OTT web series or  OTT movies projects, there are always major opportunities also given for outsider newcomers with promising talents, “ explains Sunny whose handsome younger son Rajveer Deol is also entering the film industry with the movie Dono co-starring Poonam Dhillon's daughter Paloma. Dharmendra, Sunny, Bobby and Karan will be sharing the screen space in the upcoming film Apne 2.
