Indian Idol 10 gives the country its first ever classical Rockstar - Anu Malik

India’s biggest singing reality show - Indian Idol has secured a special place in the audience’s heart with its 10^th season. Indian Idol offers one of the best platforms on a national level to the budding singers of the country.  Renowned singer and music composer, Vishal Dadlani, popular singer and youth icon, Neha Kakkar, and the veteran singer and music director, Anu Malik who have donned the judges’ hats which shoulders multiple responsibilities including guiding the contestants. The talented trio are now facing a tough time to determine the best performance from the top 14 contestants. One of the top contenders who has secured composer Anu Malik’s attention is Soumya Chakravorty who hails from Kolkata.

Soumya Chakravorty with his amazing singing skills has won the hearts of audiences and judges alike. Soumya is the first and only contestant in the history of Indian Idol who has been awarded with two golden microphones! A stupendous feat for any singer that has stepped on to the stage of Indian Idol! In the recent performance, Soumya’s rendition of a classical song was so beautiful, that Anu Malik couldn’t stop praising him. He even exclaimed that they have found the first ever classical Rockstar on Indian Idol 10!

I have worked very hard and dedicated myself to singing from an early age, also its because of my mother that I have reached this spot. When Anuji praised my singing, it took my breath away. When an established and respected artist like Anu ji praises you, it just leaves you completely speechless. It will be my constant effort to deliver my best going forward as well.”
