"Whether Dheet Patangey or Rosie-The Saffron Chapter, each film has its own destiny" SHIVIN NARANG tells JYOTHI VENKATESH
Has your journey from the small screen to the big screen been easy or tough?
Honestly, I never followed the path of small screen or big screen … I have always put energy into my talent and my skill so it can shine no matter what the medium is and yes the process and making of the big screen is really different.
You debuted with Dheet Patangey but Rosie : The Saffron Chapter is your big ticket film?
I don’t consider films like that. I feel each film has its own destiny and we put equal effort in all the projects.
But yes the results can vary which no one can predict. But yes I would confess that Rosie : The Saffron Chapter is more commercial and massy in terms of its storyline and songs.
What are your expectations from Rosie : The Saffron Chapter?
It’s a real life story and it’s one of the top haunted stories or you can say unsolved mysteries in India.
So I am sure the audience will be curious and watch it definitely, and I even searched about it.
What is your character in the film?
Raghav is Rosie’s boyfriend and the character with which the story will go forward and explore the world of Rosie.
Raghav itself is really intense because of what all happened with him and searching for the answers for which there is no history.
He is in search of Rosie. Playing Raghav was the biggest challenge for me as going into his psyche and state of mind is scary.
How was it like working with debutant Palak Tiwari, Arbaaz Khan and director Vishal Mishra?
All the actors in this film are very honest to their characters and personally also it was fun and so much to learn from.
Our director Vishal ji has given his 4 - 5 years for the research of Rosie : The Saffron Chapter. As a real life story and his real life characters so his vision is what we are following.
How did you find Prerna as a producer?
Prerna as a producer needs no introduction, she has made great films like Rustom, Padman and Toilet : Ek Prem Katha.
But I am so impressed by her contribution as a producer and as an individual to make this film happen.
She has held this film like a baby and took care of it in the best manner no matter what the situation is.
On my part, I too am really looking I'm looking forward to working with her again very soon.
And she also directed songs in Rosie : The Saffron Chapter which I am really looking forward to.
Where was the film shot and how was it shooting like in the lush outdoor locations?
The Film was shot in Lucknow and Pune. The story is about Gurgaon but because of the Covid situation we had to shoot in other locations.
Who are your inspirations and role models?
Amitabh Bachchan Sir, Shah Rukh Khan and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Who are the directors on your wish list?
Imtiaz Ali, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shankar and Prashant Neel ( KGF)
