Released in theaters on December 20, Director Anil Sharma's film "Vanvaas" has been receiving immense love from the audience. In this regard, he organized a press conference where he spoke about various aspects of the film, including its story, the love it has garnered from the viewers, its inspiration, Nana Patekar's involvement in the film, and the possibility of making the film tax-free, among other issues.
During the press conference, Anil Sharma shared his thoughts on the love the film has been receiving. He mentioned that many people have been sending him heartfelt messages and comments, expressing how deeply moved they were after watching the film. He also shared a personal experience, recounting a visit to a theater where he wanted to observe the audience's reaction firsthand. After the film ended, when the public realized that he, Anil Sharma, was present in the theater, an elderly man came up to him and embraced him, tears in his eyes. This gesture, according to Sharma, was a clear indication of how much the film had impacted the viewer.
He further emphasized that the film is resonating deeply with people. "Such films come once in 20-22 years. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. People are really connecting with it," he said.
Anil Sharma also spoke about the overwhelming response he has received, including numerous messages and phone calls. “What can I say? I am deeply grateful for the love I’ve received from the audience. People were expecting an action-packed film, but this is not an action film; it’s a family film,” he explained. He mentioned that the goal was to make a film that would bring joy to people and encourage them to value their families and parents. This, he said, was the core reason behind making the film.
Tax-Free Film
When asked about the possibility of making Vanvaas tax-free, Anil Sharma shared that he would soon be in discussions with the government. "I believe the film should be tax-free because it has the power to bring about a positive change in society. This is not just an entertainment film; it serves as a reminder of our duty and love towards our parents. If it becomes tax-free, more people will be able to watch it, and its message will reach a wider audience," he added.
Working with Nana Pateka
During the press conference, Anil Sharma also spoke about his experience of working with veteran actor Nana Patekar. "I simply narrated the story to him, and he was immediately on board. His dedication and hard work were evident in every scene. He has a unique way of connecting with everyone on set. He is kind-hearted, shares meals with the crew, and maintains a great rapport with everyone. Working with him was a truly enriching experience for me,” he said.
The Message of the Film
When asked about the message of Vanvaas, Anil Sharma highlighted the importance of family, especially parents, in one's life. He explained, "At the end of the film, I wanted to convey one simple message: 'Go and hug your parents.' We often forget how important our parents are in our lives. Through this film, I hope people understand their responsibilities towards their families and parents, and most importantly, the love they owe them."
Vanvaas is a deeply emotional, family-oriented film that tells the story of a son who leaves his elderly father in another city, and the emotional turmoil that follows. With a heartfelt story, it seeks to inspire viewers to reconsider their relationship with their parents and cherish them.
