Ashi Singh, known for her roles in Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga, and Meet – Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet, will soon appear in the upcoming romantic comedy Uff... Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, produced by Full House Media and airing on Sony SAB. She will be playing the role of Kerry Sharma in the show.
Ashi Singh Shares Insights
Recently, Mayapuri, a popular entertainment magazine, had a candid conversation with Ashi Singh, conducted by journalist Shilpa Patil. During the chat, Ashi spoke about her character, what attracted her to the show, her experience working with Sony again, and more. Here’s what she shared:
- After Meet, you signed this new show. What was special about the story and your character that attracted you?
The most special thing about this show is its story and presentation. It doesn’t have over-the-top drama; instead, it features conversations that feel real and contemporary. My character is light-hearted, cheerful, and very likable. I loved playing her. There are emotions and drama, but everything is shown with a realistic touch. That’s what makes it unique.
- Do you think this show will connect with the audience?
Absolutely! There’s something in it for every age group. Whether it’s the sweet and sour bond between siblings or glimpses of different aspects of life, everything is very relatable.
- You’ve worked with Sony before. How does it feel to be associated with Sony SAB again?
This is my fourth show, and my third with the Sony network. My first was on Sony TV, then on Sony SAB, after that I worked with Zee TV, and now I’m back with Sony. It truly feels like coming home. I’m really enjoying the experience.
We’ve often seen love stories that begin with hate and gradually turn into love. But in our show, every character has their own journey and backstory, which makes it special. Yug’s hatred for women has a strong reason behind it, and Kerry also has her own reasons for disliking Yug. Love between such two individuals is difficult — and that’s the beauty of this story.
- What was it like working with a senior and popular actor like Shabir Ahluwalia?
I’ve seen him in many good shows before. He’s warm, kind, and very easy to work with. I hope the audience likes our chemistry.
When I saw the clip, I found it very interesting and said, “It’s damn nice!” I genuinely liked it and I hope the audience feels the same way.
- How would you describe this show in just a few words?
An emotional train ride with lots of drama!
For me, love is a beautiful feeling that everyone should have in some form in their life. I love my parents, I love my career, and that love comes back to me as well. But romantically, I feel people expect too much from love. In reality, love is about giving.
You’ve received a lot of love from audiences throughout your TV career. What would you like to say to your fans?
First of all, a heartfelt thank you to all my fans who’ve supported me from the beginning of my journey till now. Please continue to stay connected with me and keep showering your love. And yes, don’t forget to watch my new show — starting June 9 at 8 PM, only on Sony SAB.
