The name of the song is 'Inipu' which is very unique. Let us tell you that this song is the first song of an album named Prince of Pop. Apart from this song, there are three more songs in this album. This song has been sung by Gurdeep. Steffi Patel is seen with Gurdeep in this song. The chemistry of both of them is very beautiful in this song. Your new song ‘Inipu’ has been released, which is getting a lot of love from the audience, its name is unique, what would you like to say about it? ‘Inipu’ is a track which is the first song out of four songs of The New EP Prince of Pop. In Tamil language ‘Inipu’ means so sweet. This song has a very cute conversation between a North Indian boy and a South Indian boy. No Sardar ji had ever worn a South Indian-style lungi on screen before, so we decided to give it a chance. I am very happy to see the response of the people. It feels good to see that people are liking this song. There is a cuteness and innocence in this song which people like. How was the experience of shooting the song? Writing this song was a better experience than shooting. This song is completely written by King Ricky and produced by Proof. When the three of us were sitting and writing this song, we thought of its entire concept. Punjabis wear chadara which is similar to South Indian lungi. It is a different matter that we don't get to see that look now. The culture of every place is mostly the same, it's just that people haven't seen it, so they find it unique. I am just happy that people like it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Gurdeep Mehndi (@gurdeepmehndi) Tell us how challenging it is to show a story in a music video. This song is two and a half minutes long and it was challenging to develop a story in it, but Saregama's team and the director of this song Bhautik suggested that instead of a love story, we should have a beautiful conversation in this song because it is very difficult to develop a love story. In a two-and-a-half-minute video, we have shown a very beautiful conversation that also looks very impactful on screen. When I also saw this video, I too could understand the conversation of this video that a cute and sweet North Indian Sardar ji has a lovely approach towards a South Indian girl. Your father Daler Mehndi is a legend. How did you decide to follow in his footsteps? I have lived in a musical family since childhood. My grandfather also used to sing kirtans. I learned music from him. I started understanding music even before I was conscious. When I was young, my father was the only pop artist in India. People were crazy about him. At that time, I had this in mind I have to do this thing but when I went deeper into it, it was not just the stardom that attracted me towards it but I also liked his style and the way he learned music. If you are musically rich, you can win in all sectors. The whole journey is still going like this. I see you doing a lot of creative things in the future where I can represent not only Punjab but India as well. Have you ever been on stage with your father and experienced a stage show? No, I have never been on stage with him. I do my shows, earlier I used to do wedding shows, now I also do concerts. I want there to be a special reason why the producers and the audience feel that we should come together, because when there is a demand for something then the fun of doing it is different. It should not happen that when I go on stage, people do not know who I am, when they know then the fun will be doubled. What are your preparations for creating this different identity? Like the song 'Inipu' has been released and people like it, when you listen to the other three songs, you will realize that the other three songs are very different from this song. Each song has its specialty, like the song 'Vaari' has Indian classical and rock fusion. All the songs on this album are very versatile and I hope that people will enjoy listening to all these songs. Your inspiration in the field of music is your father. What is that special thing about him that you learn from him? His style and format are very different. From then till now he has been a trendsetter. He has not followed the trend but he has created the trend, whether it is through his music, his clothes, or his style. His creativity is a unique style in itself, I try to learn from him and bring my style. What would you like to say to your fans and audience? I would like to tell everyone to listen to the entire Prince of Pop EP. It has four songs, ‘Inipu’, 'Vaari', 'Jaan', and 'Nasha'. Please love all these songs and comment and tell us which song you liked the most. We will present the next video of the song which you like the most.
