Let us tell you that the executive producers of this show are Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Mihir Desai. This is a production of Dharmatic Entertainment.
Show actress Shriya Saran, who is a famous actress in South films, and who has also made her name in Bollywood with films like 'Drishyam'. Let us tell you about what Shriya told about the show in an interview during the launch event of the show.
You are such a big star, tell us something about 'Showtime'?
I am very happy to be a part of this series. There are very interesting actors with whom I am working. Emraan Hashmi with whom I am working after a long time, Mouni Roy, Rajiv, and Karan Johar with whom I always wanted to work. Both Mihir and Archit are very interesting to work with, both are very talented. When we were preparing for this role, he would give us his input but once we went on the set, he allowed us to do whatever we wanted to do or could do as actors.
According to you, what is the special thing about this series?
I think everyone will enjoy watching this show. The show is very interesting, it has a lot of fun and emotion, and it has its ups and downs. I don't feel that any character in this show is a caricature of any actor from this industry. I played my character the way I felt it should have been played. In this, I am playing the character of an actress but the character I am playing is not me. My character is very strong, and she knows how to fight back. I don't think I am that strong but it was very interesting to play a character where as an actress I am playing the character of an actress but that actress is not like me at all.
Have you faced any struggles in this industry like the one shown in this show?
I will not comment on this matter. I am very close to the industry. I have made very good friends here. I think because our lives are lived in front of people, our ups and downs are perhaps more visible to people. In any industry, there are some ups and downs and difficulties. And similarly, difficulties arise in every relationship. There is politics everywhere, good and bad people are everywhere. Sometimes even good people can be bad. Nothing is completely black or white. We have heard and read so many stories that we have developed our ideas about the film industry. The film industry has been very amazing for me. Here I have met some amazing actors, directors, producers, and journalists, who are my very good friends. I am very happy to be a part of this industry.
What would you like to say to your fans?
Must watch 'Showtime'. The show is coming on 8th March. I think you all will like this show very much, I have worked very hard for it. I hope you like this show and since it is coming on OTT, you will watch it again and again.
