Diwanshu Gambhir of 'Dunki' Praises Shahrukh with Reverence

Diwanshu Gambhir, who won people's hearts with his character in the film Donkey, is known for Aafat (2019) and Hostel Days (2019). There is no limit to Diwanshu's happiness after sharing the screen with Shahrukh Khan in the film Dunki.

Appearing on the poster of the film with Shahrukh Khan and your character getting so much exposure, how do you look at this journey of yours?

It has been a very amazing journey. I remember everything that happened from the audition, how I met Shahrukh sir, Rajkumar Hirani sir, and the entire cast of the film. Everything was like a dream, I never thought that my debut would be like this.

Is there anything special about this project that you would like to share?

Formed a good bond with everyone. I have always been a fan of Rajkumar sir, and during this film, I had a good connection with him as an actor and director. My entire family is a fan of Rajkumar Sir, we watch his films without any judgment. And who is not a fan of Shahrukh sir? I have been his fan since the film 'Devdas'. It is a big thing for me to share the screen with Shahrukh sir and work under the direction of Raju sir. When I was young, I might have thought of working with Raju sir, but as I grew up, I realized that this was not possible because he looked for the best actors even for the smallest scenes of his films. Getting the role of Pumpi in his film, which is an important character in the film, is a big thing for me, and it is a very special moment for me.

How was the experience of working with Shahrukh Khan, and would you like to share some moments associated with him?

We have heard in interviews that Shahrukh sir is very humble and treats everyone well, he is really like that. When Shahrukh sir comes to the set, he does not go straight to his vanity, rather he comes to the set first, meets everyone, and then goes to the vanity to change. His nature is very good. There is a laboratory scene in the film, and in that scene, I got a little stuck at one point because everything was going well but still, something seemed missing from the scene. Shahrukh sir was also there during that scene and when he came, he was explaining to me about the scene by placing his hand on my shoulder, and I was star-struck because I met Shahrukh sir for the first time in this scene. Was excited but was also very nervous.

Would you like to share something with your fans about your upcoming projects?

Right now I can't tell, all I can say is that discussions are going on on some things. Let us hope that this year also goes well.

What would you like to say to the fans?

Everyone liked the film and my character, thank you very much for that. An artist is only hungry for love and praise. I am getting messages from many people on social media that they liked the film. When we were shooting in Saudi, I got injured in my tooth during a shot on the set. It feels good when all the hard work pays off and people praise that hard work. I hope that your love and support will continue like this. On behalf of the fans and myself, I want to thank Shahrukh sir for making our 2023 so good and grand.
