Charming Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is all set to appear in his upcoming film 'Ground Zero', and he’s currently busy promoting it. Recently, he made headlines when he appeared on the podcast of controversial YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, who was previously under fire for his remarks on India's Got Latent. During the podcast, the two got candid about struggles, controversies, and who really stands by you during your lowest points.
Ranveer opened up about his own recent controversies and the emotional toll they’ve taken, saying, “I don’t know if you’re aware, but the past three months have been really rough for me.” To which Emraan responded with calm understanding: “Everyone knows. It’s in these tough moments that you truly find out who your real friends are. The rest slowly fade away — and the ones who stick around, they’re the ones who matter.”
“Friendship is Often Just a Facade in Bollywood”
Speaking further, Emraan touched on the glamour-driven and transactional nature of relationships in the film industry, saying: “The word ‘friend’ is probably the most misused word in our industry. People come into your life when they need something — those are relationships built on convenience, not real connection. That’s part of the glamour too.”
On His Lowest Phase
Opening up about a tough chapter in his own life, Emraan reflected on the period around 2018–2019, when several of his films failed to perform at the box office.“I consider myself lucky, but yes, that was probably the toughest time in my career. Films like Cheat India and The Body didn’t work. I saw how the industry tends to only be with you when you’re at your peak.” “There was a time when I couldn’t even walk into my living room on my birthday — it was filled with flowers and gifts. But just one bad Friday at the box office, and it all vanished.”
About the Film
For those waiting, Emraan’s upcoming film ‘Ground Zero’ is slated to release in cinemas on April 25, 2025. He plays the role of BSF Deputy Commandant Narendra Nath Dubey, and actress Sai Tamhankar stars alongside him in a strong and impactful role.
