Fighter: "Anil sir is the definition of cool..." Banveen Singh

Banveen Singh, who was seen in the role of Sukhdeep in the film 'Fighter', has also shown his talent in projects like Shabaash Mitthu (2022) and Scoop (2023). His character of Sukhdeep in the film 'Fighter' was greatly liked by the audience.

You are playing the character of Sukhdeep in the film Fighter. How special has this project been for you?

If we talk about the specialty of the project, then nothing has been more special for me than this. This is my biggest project and if the first project is a big project like Fighter, then what more can I ask for? I was also a little nervous because the star cast of the film is quite big. As a new actor, it is natural to be nervous when you get a chance to work with such big actors. Hrithik sir, Deepika ma'am, and Anil sir made me feel very comfortable and my nervousness went away within a day or two. After that, I felt as if I was working with my family and friends only.

According to you, what is the special thing about this film due to which the film has received so much love?

The most important thing is that no such aviation-based film has been made in Bollywood till now. Films are always made on patriotism, but no film has shown a fighter jet or a helicopter in this manner. In this film, it is shown how our Indian Air Force works. I think the audience liked this unique thing and that is why they also liked the film.

Your character was cheerful. How much did you enjoy playing your character during the entire shoot?

When I was offered this role and when I was given its briefing, I felt that this was me in real life. I did not need to work much on this character. If I talk about myself, I am also a very happy person in my life. If I talk about the emotional angle, I am also like Sukhdeep that if anything emotional happens, I have a breakdown very quickly. This character was quite relatable to me. If people have liked this character, then I feel that perhaps I have succeeded to some extent in my work.

You are getting very good responses after this character. Fans have liked your character very much. What would you like to say about that?

I am receiving messages from family and friends from all over the world. I am also getting DMs from fans. I am also getting messages from people with whom I have not spoken for many years. Everyone liked my work and everyone liked the film. It feels good when people praise your craft.

What was your reaction when you came to know that the film you are a part of will have big names like Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, and Anil Kapoor in it?

I cannot express my reaction in words because nothing greater than this had ever happened to me in my life. I have been in Mumbai for the last five years and have been working on my acting and giving auditions. When I got this project, there was no limit to my happiness. The thing for which we have worked hard for so many years and dreamed of becoming successful, and when it succeeds, then there is no limit to happiness. When I met the entire star cast and the director, I felt that this was more than a dream, I had never even dreamed of this.

How was the experience of working with Anil Kapoor?

If you add Anil Sir's name with the definition of cool then it will be a perfect fit. Anil sir is very cool and my first scene was with him only. My introduction scene in the movie is the first scene that I shot. When I met him for the first time he was still very cool. As soon as he met me he said, “And Paaji, how are you?” He made me feel very comfortable. I felt as if I had known him for years. He is very dedicated to his work. He told us how we could do the scene and then the output that came out was also very good.

What would you like to say about the experience of working with Hrithik Roshan?

If I talk about him, it is not just dance, I am crazy about everything about him. Since childhood, I have considered two artists as my idols, first is Hrithik sir, and the second is Shahrukh sir. It was after seeing him that the desire to become an actor arose within me. When you get a chance to work with your idol in your first film, then nothing can be bigger than that. I have been a fan of his work and dance since the beginning, it is a different matter that I cannot dance even one percent like him. After seeing the dedication and hard work of Hrithik Sir, I felt that I had learned a lot in my first project. Hrithik sir is very focused, dedicated, and hardworking, and I think every actor should be like this.

What would you like to say about Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone and how was the experience of working with her?

If I had to say one word about him, it would be charming. He is very charming. When Deepika Ma'am used to come on the set, the vibe of the entire set would change. As soon as she came on the set, she used to ask everyone how are you, what's going on? It feels good when the Deepika Padukone we have seen on screen talks to you and makes you feel important. Deepika Ma'am and I were both chopper pilots in the film, so we used to talk a lot about our characters. She also shared her experiences with me, told me about her journey, and also gave me suggestions. I also used to ask him for career advice and it never happened that he said no to me, he always sat me down and explained well. Maybe she could relate to me, that's why she used to give me advice. As an actor, I have learned a lot from this project and as a human being too, I have learned a lot from it.

Many films have been made about the army in the past and continue to be made even today. So what would you like to say about the story of this film and its director Siddharth Anand?

If I talk about the story, when I read the story, I knew that this film would be a blockbuster. Very few films are made on patriotism and whenever they are made, we want them to be the best. If I talk about Siddharth Anand sir, he is a visionary director. His vision is ten times ahead of normal people. Whenever we used to shoot any scene, his thinking would start from where our thinking could not reach. When our scene was shot and then when we saw it on the screen, we were amazed to see that it was shot so beautifully. Whatever work he does, his 100% focus is on that work. His same focus and hard work are reflected in his films.

Would you like to tell us something about your upcoming projects?

The year 2024 has just started, there is still a whole year left. The viewer will get to see a lot in the coming times. This will be a surprise.

What would you like to say to your fans?

I would like to say thank you very much to all of you for giving so much love to our movie and my character. As an actor, when people like your hard work, then it matters a lot to you. Whatever work we do, we do it for the audience. We work very hard so that the audience likes that work. It feels good when people are liking that work and it is getting so much love. Your love inspires us to work harder and do good work.
