What was the biggest reason for you to associate with ‘Ghar Wali Ped Wali’?

When I did the look test for the show, I instantly loved the story and the script. At that very moment, I decided that no matter who comes or goes, I have to do this character. The brief was completely different, and the way I adapted and created it in my own way was really liked by the team.

Why are you so excited about this show? What is so special about it?

You see, comedy gives you the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and test yourself as an actor. This show has gone through a very long process. I signed it a long time ago, and I have never seen so much hard work go into any show before. That’s why I really want this effort to reach the audience.

You are playing the character of ‘Jeetu’ in the show. Could you tell us a little about him?

Jeetu’s sorrow is not real sorrow. The more troubled he is, the more opportunities people get to laugh. People often enjoy others’ troubles, and that’s exactly what happens with Jeetu. He tries to handle every situation, and that’s where the comedy comes from. He is constantly trying to keep everyone happy. People can barely manage one wife—here, he has two. This situation itself is quite stressful, but Jeetu still wants to please everyone.

What is the importance of family and comedy shows in today’s time?

Earlier, families used to sit together and watch such entertaining shows. But today, in the name of realism, most content has narrowed down to one direction—focused only on drama, romance, and domestic conflicts. In such an environment, making something different and new is definitely a big risk. If audiences support and appreciate such fresh content, only then will producers and channels have the courage to experiment and try something new.

How has your experience been working with co-stars Priyamvada Kant and Seerat Kapoor?

I have known Priyamvada for a long time; we are friends, so the bonding was already there. Seerat joined the show a little later, but she is also very sweet and nice. Since it’s a comedy show, everyone has a great sense of humor, and we have a lot of fun off-screen on the sets.

It is said that if an actor can do comedy, they can do anything. What are your thoughts on this?

Absolutely. Delivering a punch at the right time is the most difficult thing. In emotional scenes, you can take support from background music or the situation, but in comedy, you don’t have that option. That’s why having the right team around you is extremely important.

What message would you like to give to your fans?

I would just like to say that after a long wait, ‘Ghar Wali Ped Wali’ is finally streaming. You have always given so much love to my characters. This time too, please shower the same love—I promise I will entertain you completely.
