'Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' will stream on Netflix from May 1

'Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' is a period drama television series by Sanjay Leela Bhansali which will stream on Netflix. Its discussions started from the time of its first poster release. The series depicts the lives of courtesans in the red-light district of Hira Mandi, Lahore, during the Indian independence movement against the British Raj. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Sehgal will be seen in the lead roles in the series. Sharmin and Sanjeeda- We are also very excited.

Richa- I am also very, very excited.

Question- How did you feel living the dream world of Sanjay Leela Bhansali?

Sonakshi- We did not want to come out of that world, it was so beautiful. I think for us as actors this is an experience that we have never had before.

Sharmin- Once you go to Sir's world, you will see different things for each character there. You will feel that this is the truth. This was a very emotional experience for us. It felt like leaving your house and going straight to your character's house.

Question- So did you behave like your characters even when you went home?

Sharmin- No no, but I can do some acting.

Manisha- A little impact of the character remains because the character is quite powerful.

Sanjeeda- I think Heera Mandi is a world created by the most celebrated filmmaker in the country. And how would I want to get out of such a world and go home? Although our show has ended we wanted the show to continue and we remain a part of this world.

Sharmin- I would just like to say on this occasion that I have known Sanjay sir for a long time. Those people picture such grand sets, build them and then shoot there, and then go to their 2 BHK house. If they can do it then we all can do it. If a person like him can leave this grand set and go to his simple house, then who are we not to do so?

Question- What did you learn from Sanjay sir while shooting with him?

Richa- Very high aesthetic standards. Don't do anything halfway. You have to put your whole heart into everything, be it dialogue delivery, acting, or dancing and music. He keeps his eye on everything. By working with him we have become better actors.

Manisha- I think his work ethic is unmatched.

Sanjeeda- I have learned to live in the moment Sanjay Sir. Because the magical moments we get in those moments are the best. And so now I have stopped thinking too much.

Sharmin- Sanjay sir pays a lot of attention to details. It is their nuances that make them different from the rest and this is what keeps them together with you.

Sonakshi- No matter how good you think you are, he will come up with something better.

Question- Can you all tell us something about your character?

Richa- My character's name is Lajjo, and she is very emotional.

Sanjeeda- My character's name is Waheeda. I would like to call my character mysterious.

Sharmin- My character's name is Alamzeb and I think the word love can define him better.

Manisha- My character's name is Mallikajan and she is a very clever person.

Sonakshi- My character's name is Faridan and Faridan means Mirchi.
